I have the gear s and I love everything about it but the tizen App Store and the docking station (the snap from the dock eventually breaks off, even if you're ridiculously careful.) The larger screen is a bit easier to text with or even surf the web or watch a KZbin video. But, this new one looks pretty slick and having the interchangeable bands is a bit more user friendly. I'm also happy they addressed the docking station issue and made it one you just slide the watch down on, instead of snapping it in.

Well, you said that you could take music on just the watch, how would you listen to the music? As far as I see there is no speaker on the watch. Could you use Bluetooth headphones straight from the watch? Or maybe it just streams it through your phone to headphones you have plugged into your phone? Also, does the watch have a built in music player like pretty much all phones do?

About battery life. This watch will last for up to a week or more in "power saving" mode. That's Pebble territory. Of course, it'll be in black and white and have vastly reduced functionality, but it is VERY handy to have if your situation changes and you won't be able to put it on a charger for a few days. You'll still have your alarms, and call/text notifications, but not all your apps and watchfaces. I hope that changes soon. It would be AWESOME to have specific "power saving mode" watchfaces and apps... ...basically "Pebble" mode....
