The left two burners on our Samsung Inductive Range, model NE58H9970WS failed. This video covers the failure and how I fixed it. It includes an overview and then detailed photos and videos of the repair process. From searching on the Internet, this looks to be a fairly common failure.

WOW! Thank you so much for this incredibly detailed video. We had the same problem. I followed your video step-by-step and now I have a functioning stove again. I had never even soldered a circuit board before. You saved me from having to buy an entirely new stove.

Thanks for this video!!! I went 3 years without the left burners, then 3 months ago the right ones quit working. In less than an hour I have a full functioning stove top again.

Thank you so much for your video. My samsung, 10 years old, failed one burner at a time over the last 6 months. Thanks to your video I also found 2 bad solder joints on the centre circuit board. After 4 hours work it is now back in operation. Great job on the instructional video.

So for the second time in two years you sir have saved my bacon! Two years ago I used your video tutorial to fix the left hand side burners that were not working, just today thanks to your video I was able to retake my cook top apart and fix the dry solder joint that was now stopping my right hand side from working. Thanks!

Thanks for the detailed, and clear instructions. I've had to use your video twice now. First the left side went out, then about a year later the right went out. It was the same solder joint both times (but on opposite sides of the board). You saved me a bunch of money.

An impressively clear video; and depressing how many people have had to make use of it for exactly the same soldering problem. This is the second problem with the Samsung range that I've had to fix on my own (nobody services Samsung in our area). Not impressed with their reliability!

It worked!! Before I saw this video I took my oven apart. I could not see anything wrong. Watched the video, took it apart again. I Looked at the board could not see any issues. I used my phone to zoom in on it and found the little tiny culprit. I resoldered the connection, and put it all back together. And bingo it worked!!! Thank you very much for your excellent video. I would’ve had to pay another $3000 stove. I will never buy a Samsung again, 2 main boards a convection fan and now this,never ever again.

I had the same range with the same issue. I was very reluctant to tear it apart like this (even though I do consider myself fairly "handy"). Mostly because I doubted it would work. Well, I tried it, and it worked. The same controller board in the same spot had a burned-out solder joint. I did my amateur best to fix that and put everything back together. It now works again! Thanks so much! Thousands of $ saved and another huge hunk of parts not heading for the landfill.

Thanks. I just did this even though my hob wasn't completely broken. I got 10% more power on the left and 100% more power on the right. My big burner also had the wires a bit burned so I gave them a light clean. If I open it up again I'll change the 2 relays (GK-A-1A-12D) and will fully clean the wires or replace with silicone wires, they were only 14awg.

Thank you for your detailed and helpful video! This model stove is discontinued and we could not find another stove on the market with the same features. We were able to fixed the 2 burners due to resoldering the motherboard connections as you did. You save us a big repair bill and we are very grateful.

Again, thanks for this extremely well done video. Did this today, exactly as described here. Me and my brother in law did it in 2 hours. Only glitch was one screw from the burner connectors REFUSED to come out and we shredded the screw head, (it was near the rear edge) so I just pried open enough space between the burners plate and board plate to remove the board. The exact spot was burned. Used a cheap solder and solder wick. Done. It works. Thank you.

I just finished the same process and found cold solder joints in the same location on the same board. It also looks like there was an attempted repair evidently by the people who made the board after realizing that the board had failed connections. Pretty obviously a manufacturer defect but of course Samsung isn’t going to admit fault. I repaired the solder connections and the range burners work perfect now. It’s actually a pretty simple repair once you know the issue. The Samsung appliance repair technicians told my brother that the range couldn’t be repaired and the best place for the range was the local landfill. They had already replaced the main PCB board at the back of the range which of course had absolutely nothing to do with non functioning burners, at a cost of $600. These guys are a bunch of clowns and have absolutely no clue. Anyway thanks you for the heads up it saved this range from death by landfill.

Thank you for posting this video! My stove is similar, and I had lost all functions of the stove (lights, sounds, burners) all at once. The fix for me was replacing that yellow circuit panel (DA92-00486A), I was able to test with a multi meter, and the soldered in fuse on that panel was blown, in addition to it having a burnt spot on the panel. While I was there I checked the other soldered connections and fuses like you show in the video. Thanks again, and cheers :)

I watched the two videos and searched online for this problem. Based on the video and the instructions for other Do It Yourselfers, I decided to give it a go. The only difference was that my right stopped working about a month ago and two days ago it was my right front, so I needed to give it a shot, and guess what! I found the same problem only it was the solder in the main circuit board that controlled the right circuit board. It up was the same terminal, just on the other side of the board. Took about 4 hours as I took my time, and cleaned the stove at the same time, but nothing was hard about it. No parts needed, just soldering flux, a dab of solder and a small soldering iron. Good as new, and I love my stove as well.

Great video, unfortunately, many of the screws on my unit were very soft and stripped easily making access to the circuit board very difficult. I did manage to get to it, and solder what looked like a. burned out connection, but either my skills are weak or it was something else...time to look for a replacement.

In our case we changed the part and the main board (didn't find this video in time!) ...fixed the problem for about 6 weeks then the same burners blew out again along with the right side ones 2 days later...technician suspects the fan.that is spewing grease/residue all over the unprotected boards....ours also started giving problems after 5 years of heavy use!

Interesting. I have wondered if we would run into the same problem with the other side, but so far (~6 months since repair), it has been doing well. I will say that the electronics in our range were fairly clean when I opened it up, I wouldn't say there was much in the way of oil to clean off the boards. I can't recall any in fact. Now my over range microwave, on the other hand, I recently had to repair and it was practically dripping with oil inside the case. Curious how much the repair you had done was, my understanding is that would probably have been around a grand to replace the two boards using a service tech?
@francodaniele2028

@@toolsagainstentropy173 update on the "repair" ...showed the tech where to solder (wound up doing it myself! at least he didn't charge for the service call!)...left side induction burners all good about 1 month.... as of yesterday the right side burners no longer detecting! The initial repair cost was about $800 CAD including parts and labor. replaced 3 boards, oven sensors and switch.. but not the power board...oh additional 125 cad for the fan...at this rate I'll have enough parts to build another Range! I brought up the issue to Samsung Canada, the initial customer service rep was understanding and polite but when I was transferred to their manager he basically told me too bad, not their problem and hung up...

@SeanReifschneider
@SeanReifschneider 23 күн бұрын
First of all, make sure you have the right size and type of screwdriver, it's not a "one size fits all" situation. I don't know exactly what size it is, but for Philips there are different sizes like #1, #2, etc... Also, there's Pozidrive which looks a lot like Philips, but isn't. If you've damaged the heads, it may already be too late. I've heard putting a rubber band between the screwdriver and the screw can help. Make sure you press in firmly while turning. They also make this compound that can help, specifically for difficult screws, it's fairly gritty. If the head is already damaged too much, you may have to look at using a left handed drill bit and/or an easy-out. Look here for tips on difficult screws. Be safe!
