Some of the NX cameras didn't have an IR filter and so we're full spectrum, if you get them and a decent 720nm it filter or similar you can do hand held ir without needing to pay for an expensive modification. One good reason to look into them.

Two NX1000, an NX210 & an NX300 in use. All bought used with a range of lenses. Not a fan of expensive cameras for every-day use so these are ideal to carry anywhere with results that are fine for my eyes. The NX1000 is light & perfectly balanced with the 16mm prime for one-handed use - and no touch screen to accidentally change settings. EDIT: Should add I always shoot RAW, can't comment on the out of camera JPEGs. EDIT 2: All of the above have a chunkier battery than the NX3000 and have a proper SD Card slot. Plus the NX300 is touch screen. Would love a 28mp NX500 but you're looking at £500+ for one of those...

I have this combo! With the incredible popularity of small compacts at the moment many have gone crazy on price, and lots of small mirrorless cameras have been swept up too (Fuji X-M1, Panasonic GM1 for example). The NX3000 seems to have escaped that for now, a relative bargain here in the UK Vs many other small mirrorless older cameras which in reality are no better.

@karlbentley57023 ай бұрын
The NX300 is better ime due to it having focus peaking when using older lenses and lens adapters, one of the reasons I bought mine. So I can use my older Pentax, Helios etc lenses on a lightweight mirrorless camera. Don't worry if the internal battery has died, it can't be easily replaced but just means resetting the clock each time you change out the main battery. The worst part is the screen which is often not bright enough on sunny days, a cheap matt screen protector can help here.

I have four different Samsung cameras including the super fast NX1, which also has a very decent resolution, especially considering its release date. I love the images from these cameras, and despite having only three Samsung lenses, I can shoot almost any focal length as I have bought adapters for a range of different lenses, though I have to shoot manual focus, but that's the way I do most of the time anyway. Great system, I would recommend anyone to consider it. Outdated ? Yeah but who really needs all the new stuff that modern cameras come with? I think the manufacturers are just trying to create a need, most of us will be just fine with older DSLRs or cameras like these Samsungs. I find the NX1 is still a killer camera.

I purchased a full spectrum converted NX2000, it’s so amazing, I wanted to get into IR/SPECTRUM photos. The WiFi connection is old and not supported by most newer phones or tablets, so the app is not compatible or functioning. Lenses are very limited, hard to find the one you really want, or pay extra premium for a discontinued item, the NX2000 has the touch screen, but no flip screen. Most of the lenses are in Korea or Japan, the USA market is a gamble, I had to return a lens that looked perfect but didn’t quite fully functional. Be careful of sellers getting rid of defective ones for a price lower than what the majority are likely going for. The overseas market seems to be more honest and reliable. But KEH, sold me a great lens, located in the US. the larger than most screens on my NX2000 is great to use, the conversion was done perfectly, I didn’t need another camera, but wanted to try a different format of shooting, instead of the same old images, 90% of the world shoots in. IR/Full spectrum is a bit more learning and forethought than the camera requirements are done with B&W, or colour spectrum imaging, shooting with a filter that is darker or invisible is more tricky. Samsung seems to take to the conversion very well. The smaller form factor is a major plus. My latest go to when I want to shoot for the day.

I personally started with NX200 and later switched to NX300, which was my dream camera. From lenses I had the 18-55mm and this 30mm f2 pancake. Plus I had the manual 85mm f1.4 from Samyang which was amazing for portraits. This way I got into photography with relatively low budget and got tons of amazing pictures to keep. It was very sad when the system died and as I wanted to progress in digital photography, I switched to the Canon M system. I believed that such a big brand as Canon will not let me down. Until it did. So nowadays I'm a Nikon Z user and so far so good :)

Great video as usual. I have a theory about why the NX series ultimately failed, and apart from Samsung getting cold feet, I think stems from the partnership they had with Pentax. Their GX series were ultimately Pentax cameras re-branded (and re-bodied in the GX-10 and 20). The lenses were all Pentax designed and made ones. So no bad thing there. I just have a hunch that the partnership went very sour with the Samsung designed 14.6MP sensor, that Pentax also used. So you have the GX-20, K20D, which I had a copy, and the K-7, all using this sensor. And to be brutal, it is awful! "if" it was the Sony sensor beater, then things possibly have been different. Pentax ended up going back to Sony for the excellent 16MP replacement for the K-5 over anything that Samsung produced. The Samsung/Pentax partnership may be still going, and Pentax would also be helping develop the NX mirrorless mount with Samsung, and be a decade ahead of CaNikon with theirs. But in the end, we know where we are now. I could be totally wrong, but there is certainly indicators. But like I say, it is only a theory. Shame really, as a NX mount Pentax mirrorless with their stunning Limiteds in a mirrorless version would be something to behold. As it is, Samsung have gone the phone route, and Pentax still make superb DSLR's and lenses albeit to a very reduced audience.

The Epson RD1 and Leica bodies at the time were not "mirrorless" per the actual definition. They are rangefinders. True, they don't have mirror assemblies within the lens mount, but neither did film rangefinders such as the Leica M6. True mirrorless cameras always have the shutter open (sensor exposed) when shooting in order to achieve live view. Ricoh/Pentax did have true mirrorless cameras at this time, such as the Pentax Q (1/2.3" sensor w/ interchangeable mount) and the Ricoh GXR utilizing the M mount module. This features the same mount as the RD1 and Leica rangefinders, but acts as a true mirrorless camera with an always-open shutter and live view via an APSC sensor. Another example from Pentax is the K-01, which is a K mount-based true mirrorless camera with an APSC sensor.

Nx3000 for travel is great. Nx300 is better , you can also shoot vintage lenses with them and nx300 has focus peaking with colors + magnification. Nx3000 has magnification but screen resolution is worst. Nx30 is super with viewfinder and tilting screen. But is bigger.
