This is probably the first Samsung that I didn't feel I needed to install Nova Launcher. I really do like how Samsung did this. Been using my Note 8 for six days now and loving it. Camera is amazing and I was able to run God of War smoothly with an emulator. Traded my note 5 in and never looked backed. Battery has also been good for me.

Awesome to read your experience. I was debating if using Nova Launcher or staying with Samsung launcher. I am still on my Note 5, hoping to get the Note 8 hopefully before the end of this month. I would love to play Gears of War on PPSSPP, but it is a slideshow on the N5 as you might know, lol.

Got my note 8 last Monday and I completely agree I actually like this touch wiz more than nova. I didn't expect touch wiz to be this close to perfect when getting it and I've had the note 5 and s7 edge. Beast of a phone

Great tips! I was using most of the features but still, very helpful. My husband and I upgraded from a note 4 (which we loved) to the note 8, and also switched from Verizon to Tmobile, with the buy one get one free, best decision ever, paying way less with new phones than with Verizon and have better service. I love the fact that you can customize almost everything.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I prefer the placement of the fingerprint scanner. If you register your index finger rather than your thumb, you can hold and unlock your phone one handed!

I've used a phone with a back center fingerprint scanner and this is more comfortable for me because I can reach it holding my phone normally and I don't have to bend my fingers weird

Just got mine this week. Its from Amazon & its renewed. Basically looks new & battery is also new. Imo just buy a battery case. Even if you have an old phone, those cases will keep you charged through the day.

I find it funny that most people complain about the placement of the fingerprint reader. Everyone I see you complains about it uses thier right hand to try to unlock it. Try using your left hand. It makes a huge difference. I use my left hand to open it and I hold my phone with my left hand.

Under settings, I do not have "auto restart"! And for some reason, Samsung said that Verizon disabled "find my mobile". They don't know why Verizon would do this, but it is not even an option in my settings. I am going to go to the Playstore and install it.

My iris scanner on my Note 8 is nowhere near that fast, maybe its just me but I always have to move and align my phone using the preview mask to get it to work. I only get unlocks that fast using face id. :(

Hi, I actually found it, by coincidence, when you hit SETTINGS if you hit the three DOTS next to the magnifying glass, it will give you the option of viewing the settings on SIMPLIFIED LIST OR STANDARD LIST, change it to the opposite you are viewing and that is where you are going to find it, jiji I'll answer you cause this guy is not going to. THESE PEOPLE WANT YOU TO SUBSCRIBE BUT WHEN YOU ASK QUESTIONS THEY SEEM TO BE ON ETERNAL VACATION AND NEVER ANSWER. So there, hope that helps.

*Easiest to use is the face unlock* let me tell you why. Placement of the finger print sensor is pretty fucked up esp worth medium/small hands try holding it in your left hand (I'm right handed but often end up holding my phone with the left one) it's impossible to comfortably unlock the phone. Iris unlock is great and much more secure than face unlock but the problem is that it's much less convenient. You need to swipe the screen and hold your phone up etc you have an option that makes it scan as soon as u turn the screen on but you can't see the *camera aim /eye/ mask* thing so you end up trying to guess how to hold the phone. Sometimes it works flawlessly often you're moving your hand and head left right opening your eyes wide trying to unlock the phone making it useless and better to just swipe and then use the scanner. Face unlock 95 of the time instantly unlocks the phone no matter the conditions. And often I will turn on my screen to see notifications and before I can even see them it unlocks the phone as soon as I look at the screen. But the downside is that it's not as secure. I also haven't tried it with glasses, hats etc

I cannot find the optimize shortcut. When i go into DEVICE MAINTENANCE it only gives 4 options (battery, performance mode, storage and memory) there is no OPTIMIZE button and no way to place a shortcut on the home screen. Also, under the GENERAL MANAGEMENT tab, there is no AUTO RESTART option. Am I missing something?
