What an amazing review! I want to ask: does the 43" 50" Va panel have better contrast, blooming, and black level than the 55" above IPS panel?
@TECHOSAUR
@TECHOSAUR 4 ай бұрын
Well, I don't have the 55", but I can say it definitely has very good contrast and quite deep blacks. It reminds me quite a lot of an OLED in that manner, I have C2 42" but it has quite a blooming effect if you look from the sides, so viewing angles on the VA panel are terrible. Local dimming is pretty good in HDR content. It's a step up from IPS in terms of image quality, but I also noticed poor color quality, so if you use it for photography and need accurate colors, I think it's not good for this as an OLED.

New subscriber. I enjoyed this video a lot knowing that some of what I'm seeing like the intensity of the blooming, is due to the camera and what we are watching the video on. Im really considering using this as a pc monitor and for pc gaming. I prefer playing my ps5 on a large tv and for that im considering the 85" qn90c, qn95c, sony x93l, and sony x95l. Depends on more reviews and how much i really want to spend on incremental improvements between these choices. Maybe sometimes Id move the ps5 to my office where this 43" tv would be if someone wanted to watch tv and i want to play my ps5. With that said, do you see any major negatives of using the 43" qn90c with my gsync desktop and laptop? I generally use a monitor for pc gaming, reading, youtube streaming, and the occasional Excel and Word file :). Curious to get your thoughts. My office is very bright, but there is no direct sunlight and the wall opposite my desk is just a white wall with windows to the left of my desk. I know you stated that the brightness overcomes the reflections :).

I'll do my best to upgrade my equipment, thanks for the feedback! but I need to inform you that the QN90C doesn't support Nvidia G-sync, only AMD FREESYNC PREMIUM PRO and in PS5 it supports VRR, but as i said in the video g-sync compatible monitors to me means not much because g-sync compatible is a software driver that turns originally freesync monitors or TVs to g-sync using driver based but it's not really Nvidia's technology or chip for preventing screen tearing, their actual solution is quite expensive, you would see it on like this monitor by Asus rog.asus.com/monitors/32-to-34-inches/rog-swift-pg32uqx-model/ which is priced for over 3000$ price it adds a lot in cost that's why G-sync compatible monitors are more common but they prevent screen tearing as much, in many FPS games I've had G-sync compatible on and still experienced screen tearing, i personally loved it more on free sync premium pro, like AMD RADEON GPUs its a long discussion by itself but in the end IMO g-sync compatible isn't a thing i would care for even if I have an Nvidia RTX as well in worst-case scenario if you see screen tearing in games you can enable V-sync which eliminates all screen tearing I also have a window to the left of the TV and I never got disturbed by sunlight coming, it's glossy but it somehow deflects reflections and it's brightness is really great I haven't gotten my hands on the other TVs you mentioned but i think the QN90C has a lot to offer, hope you find what suits you the best!

@TECHOSAUR
@TECHOSAUR 6 ай бұрын
@@madhaze0126 its actually pretty great, but i think for competitive games, you must be looking into faster panels like over 240hz ? this one is maxed at 144hz at 4K and even at full HD you cant go over 144hz i Played COD on it and quite enjoyed it, also CS 2 and Payday 3, if you are interested in 4K 43" size i would recommend it but since its VA panel so it may show some overshooting, it depends on how you are usually sensitive to those image impurities but it's defeintily not the worst panel out there, im looking forward to the QN90D now that it has been announced in CES 2024, I'll do my best to review it as well as the OLED 43" one from Samsung if possible!

@@Dont4n I think QN90C uses much better panel check this rtings article www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/qn90b-qled section: Compared To Other TVs TL;DR: The Samsung QN90C/QN90CD QLED is the replacement model for the Samsung QN90B QLED, and they each have their strengths and weaknesses. The QN90C has better tone mapping and tracks the PQ EOTF better, so HDR content especially looks better, despite the QN90B's better measurements on some aspects of picture quality. The QN90C also uses a different panel type that natively has a wider viewing angle without needing additional filters, so there's no Ultra Wide Viewing Angle layer. It results in a slightly smaller viewing angle on the QN90C, but there's no distracting rainbow smearing from overhead lights. and i agree with that, while viewing angles arent as good as OLED like LG C2, C3 but if you sit facing it, its brilliant and clear

Nope it's not G-sync compatible, it has Free sync premium pro so if you have an AMD GPU it works pretty well in getting rid of screen tearing Viewing angles are bad from everywhere except front, on sides you see it's blooming, you can still see what's on TV though, only when you sit in the front it's clear, if you want I can make a video showing viewing angles, got other people asking about it and my video lacked that part, I should have mentioned it !

It depends on ur personal taste If you prefer brighter and more vivid colors I think the QN90C is a good choice but if you prefer perfect dimming control and more accurate colors and also better response time LG C2 is the one for you It really comes to what you prefer I tried both and for me the QN90C is better given that I work on video editing and coding and in such use cases C2 is not good because it goes dim after some mins if the scene isn't moving enough to protect against burn-in, also I hated the Auto brightness limiter (ABL) because when u browse white websites like Amazon if u scroll down brightness change and it feels quite distracting, in QN90C you don't have those things so C2 is purely meant for entertainment not much for productivity

I never had the QN90B, I'm currently using the QN90C 43" as a PC/console monitor for all-purpose, In my opinion, the local dimming is good, I don't see trails of light, maybe because they increased the number of zones in comparison to previous monitors I tried, like the Odyssey NEO G7 43" and maybe the QN90B but you can easily disable the local dimming feature and you should stop seeing trails of light Instead it will be the total backlight for all zones, Having it enabled serves for HDR content, but for PC use cases it's not that good, I personally keep it on all time and I haven't any issue of that sort Also, contrast levels are awesome given it is a VA panel, not an ADS of course, it's not comparable with OLED in terms of color accuracy but it's way brighter, I love HDR gaming on this one more than OLED because you could see scenes more alive and vivid

So it has significantly less ghosting over the 43 neo g7 as I understand?
@TECHOSAUR
@TECHOSAUR Жыл бұрын
Yes, it still has some ghosting in some scenarios like when you scroll down but at least it's better especially when i read news now while scrolling i feel less discomfort, it falls under the acceptable amount of ghosting, also the interesting part that if you scroll text so fast you won't even see the ghosting, on the NEO G7 it worsen the faster you scroll, it was just too much to handle imo, i liked the build quality and design on the NEO G7 but unfortunately the ghosting ruins the experience especially when u use it out of gaming

@@TECHOSAUR how about yellow fringing on text and mouse cursor? Is that seen on 43 qn90c? I had 3x neo g7 43 all were bad and moving the mouse around was bad.. even in destiny 2 menus was ugly
@TECHOSAUR
@TECHOSAUR Жыл бұрын
@@dnsean03 nope, i dont see yellow fringing on this one, when you move mouse cursor you see some ghosting as you do when scrolling down but when you move the cursor so fast you stop seeing any ghosting all together, i tottally recommend you try this one over the Odyssey G7 NEO, give it a try!

its better that samsung oddysei neo g7 43"?
@TECHOSAUR
@TECHOSAUR Жыл бұрын
For me yes, I noticed, better local dimming control in dark scenes and also color and contrast are more clear thanks to the display coating that is glossy not matte like odyssey 43, also less ghosting effect, the odyssey has it's pros like screen coating is so premium looking and blocks any reflection, both have slim design but build quality is better on odyssey, it feels more robust overall Also the odyssey has display port input, this one doesn't It comes down to what you prefer

I deeply apologize for the camera quality, I don't have a dedicated camera setup, just a phone camera, getting a DLSR camera is on top of my list, my channel is tiny, and the investor for everything is only my wallet 😂 your kind support is going to nourish it

Rtings complains about Lighting Zone transitions, and ghosting. The IPS panel is not fast enough. Is this a real thing?
@TECHOSAUR
@TECHOSAUR Жыл бұрын
Sorry but its a VA panel not IPS And all VA panels generally have problem with ghosting and response time however in normal use scenario it's really decent, Its not on par with OLED with response but it's better than PC monitors of that size, I've been using it for 2 months and for me it's good, i have no complains about lighting zones transitions and ghosting, also in gaming it has superior HDR experience

How is it compared to neo g7 43 from samsung
@TECHOSAUR
@TECHOSAUR 11 ай бұрын
it actually depends on my factors and how you would use it The QN90C has a glossy coating , has only HDMI 2.1 ports while the neo G7 has a matte finish, it is oriented as a high-end gaming monitor for PC and includes a display port as well as HDMI 2.1 for consoles so terms of PC compatibility the neo-G7 has more options They're pretty close but I also saw less ghosting effect on the QN90C and better local dimming control, the neo G7 wasn't impressive in that department but what I liked more about it is the build quality and I liked the design and matte finish, those are the things I appreciated the most also to note the QN90C has Samsung's latest feature which is auto HDR remastering, it basically remasters SDR content into appearing HDR-Like which you can see here: for old movies like here kzbin.info/www/bejne/oYHIaIVmn9iDeJI for consoles that don't support HDR kzbin.info/www/bejne/aqDGqaWnmdSAd9E

Man, thanks a lot for your useful review. What can you say concerning "colour gradient" and "bad viewing angles" in qnc 43 inch. model? - kzbin.info/www/bejne/o5u1c3hnrKeqhNk - Cause one reviewer here told, that particularly in 43 and 50 inch models Samsung doesn't use the technology, which spreads and controls wide color view angles in comparison with 55, 65 and bigger inch models, and cause of this he doesnt recommend this 43 and 50 models for buying and using.
@TECHOSAUR
@TECHOSAUR 6 ай бұрын
it's definitely not the best panel out there, viewing angles are horrible IMO But it depends whether you care about viewing angles, I usually sit facing it so it doesn't matter that much. Also this one isn't purposed for professional use so It doesn't have a reliable color accuracy, it's acceptable but LG C2/C3 are definitely outperforming in that department But I personally didn't find any better non OLED based tv of this size It has some compromises on certain aspects like panel latency and color accuracy and viewing angles but it also has good local dimming and it gets so bright in HDR content thanks to it's MINI-LED while not worrying about burn-in and low brightness for PC uses
