Back then, cellular connectivity was so important to people that you had to pay US$200 more to get an iPhone, otherwise you buy an iPod touch which is a goriber (poor man's) iPhone. But still it was as expensive as video game consoles like Xbox 360 and Wii that cost only US$249. And now people don't need that much cellular connectivity (except in South East Asia). Social media largely covers people's communication. So the latest iPhones didn't give any options for SIM card slots in the US. So could it be that they're going to remove WiFi connectivity for a cheaper alternative of iPhone? I hope that day never comes.

I don't think it's happening. Btw I haven't mentioned that iPod touch was really popular among USA kids back then. It actually helped many kids to get introduced with online social media. In those countries, kids didn't use their parents phone like we used to do once.
