That's why the ad says "Creativity can't be crushed". Their tablet was a secondary element which told them, Apple doesn't care about traditional stuff but we do, so come up here.

Yes he didn't got the point. To show the features of the tablet would kill the message, and the message was clear, we are here to help and enhance the human experience, not to replace it. I found it to be a beautiful add, and I don't even use Samsung products either. I always used Motorola phones, Acer and recently also Lenovo laptops, and LG televisions. But it is a beautiful add indeed.

Apple, removing leather from their product line was just completely absurd and didn’t help anything. Everybody hates what they replaced leather with “fine woven” junk. Most returned it because it scratches and looks terrible. I still have my leather Apple wallet from 5 years ago that I still use on my phone to this day. Leather ages very well.

As someone who pays and loves the piano, seeing a piano getting crushed, crushed my soul a little. It is seeing something you love and is sentimental to you gets destroyed. Maybe it doesn't mean anything to people who don't play or love the piano, but piano cost thousands of dollars and many pianists dream to be able to own one one day. It's not offensive or anything. It's just bad taste. Now multiply this over all the other instruments, artistic supplies, etc..

Come on people. If it wasn’t part CGI, then they used crappy and broken down instruments. Maybe the were unfunctioning props. Apple did not go to the piano store and purchase a $20,000 Kawai piano just to crush it. I’m a life long musician and seeing an instrument get destroyed has no meaning for me at all. Unless it’s a $100,000 Steinway D concert grand that Apple could have given me instead, (but that didn’t happen).

My guess is the emoji is cgi. Much of it is real. Here's how I think they did it: Use the press to get a shot. Stop the press, go take of some stuff for the press to get even lower, and then repeat. Since the press became completely flat in the end, which would otherwise be impossible.. TLDR: They remove stuff between cuts

I took the Apple ad as art, nothing more. And as a professional musician, musical instruments do have a “life expectancy” of sorts. Acoustic pianos, for example, are rarely purchased nowadays let alone cared for, so to see one that was highly likely beyond its usefulness getting crushed is no big deal. Most ebay-like sites are full of ads giving away uprights. No one wants them! And even if someone wants them, the money needed to fix them/maintain them/tune them, etc, is not worth it, unless one has some rare Steinway K52. There will always be musical instruments that anyone can buy. They’ll be around forever. But today, you can buy software/hardware that can create music way beyond what a user may know. In fact, you don’t even need to play an instrument or sing or write music to use music software because it does (virtually) everything for you. And now we have AI that’s capable fo writing music for you! Maybe all the energy used to trash Apple for their ad shoud be applied to the future of music! And art in general. Don’t blame Apple for this! The degeneration of music and art has been going on for decades. But Apple, as usual, becomes the whupping boy for anything seen as progressive. If Samsing did this exact commercial for their tablet, no one would say a thing. But since Apple is the “Goliath” in the tech world, thousands of “little Davids” are hell-bent on destroying them. No logic, no reason, just pure, unadulterated hatred. People suck. They build up, they tear down, rinse and repeat ad infinitum.

Samsung phones are pretty well ahead in terms of hardware. They also make amazing TV’s. But most of what they make is total garbage. Fridges, AC units, washing machines, they’re notorious for being trash that breaks as soon as the warranty is expired.

The Apple ad was a controversy, because people get more skeptical with the corporate identity “show”. Companies are not your friends and people seem to realise that. Samsung pathetically adapting this controversy just underlines the reason why the community was concerned in the first place: what does a statement from a company matter? They all say “we are different than the other bad bad companies”, but in the end they are even worse. How couldn’t they realise how hypocritical this video is? I’m not trying to justify the destruction of creative tools or calling out this KZbinr by making a comparison, but when Scott the Woz destroys electronics that are probably already broken or malfunctioning for a 1 - 2 second cutaway gag, nobody bats an eye. I can't believe how many people think that the problem with the Apple ad is that if the instruments were either real or props. The problem (for some people) was that Apple suggested: creativity is not needed anymore. We have everything in the thin iPad Pro. There was a philosophical problem with the ad (again for some people who always see things the wrong way to argue about things). As a person who uses the iPad as a sheet music tablet, and I play instruments and went to a music school, I think Samsung's advert was more heartfelt. I'm pretty sure they didn't smash a guitar themselves as there are plenty of guitars that are in that terrible neglected condition and they are pretty easy to find. But the best part is that they just showed the technology complementing the creative process without taking the soul out of it, they showed how creativity isn't crushed down with the new tech, rather how that new tech complements the creative process. To me, Apple's advert was pretty awful. A piano in particular is a really complex and expensive instrument, and it's a shame to crush it down like that. I wouldn't have mind as much if it was a worn down piano, but even then, the statement is the problem here far more than what they did.

I haven’t actually seen the ad, but going by what you had clipped in this, I HIGHLY doubt that was a real press, the sheer size of it. It’d be cheaper to do it all as cgi than renting a facility that actually has a press of that size, cleaning it (it certainly wouldn’t be that clean), and then walling it off (it wouldn’t be in such a small, closed off space). Logistics would be insane, not impossible, but extremely improbable.

Apple does not use any Samsung display technology. They don’t pay Samsung a dime for use of any technology. Apple creates, design, calibrate and engineer all their own displays. Samsung began and is still used by Apple as a manufacturer…a builder like construction.

Nobody cares about the physical instruments. The problem is the meaning that the apple add, maybe unintentionally, gave of that the iPad is here to replace all of this culture and humanity with a sheet of glass and metal that can perfectly replicate all of what artists do. It’s fundamentally the same reason people are mad at AI art. Two identical drawings, one made by a human and one made by an AI, are not the same because one has a human mind behind it. What the Samsung add is trying to convey is not that the galaxy tab is capable of showing a png, but that Samsung as a company believes that technology should accompany, not replace, traditional art forms.

I didn't like the Apple iPad Pro add, because it destroyed so much good equipment to be replaced by the new slim M4 iPad Pro, that though technical very capable is so compromised by iPad OS. I agree the Samsung ad was not as creative as Apple's ad, but it made me smile, because you can imagine some impoverished musician, coming along after Apple Marketing team and the film crew have gone home for day. Sifting through the wreckage they have left behind, finding a broken guitar, and managing to play a tune on it. It rubs salt into Apple's wound and highlights that Apple has become too big and rich that they have lost touch with reality and so full spin these days. Having said that, I don't think Samsung are any better, but I do like your KZbin videos!

Yeah when it comes to tech and ads aimed at creatives, you have to advertise how a product can help you, not the tech itself. I dont think a lot of people understood that Apple's ad was aimed at creatives, which the field is currently under a lot heated tension. So Apple's ad made creatives feel like their passion isn't worth what this billion dollar corporation can give them. And for a creative person it comes off as tone deaf and slightly offensive in the current climate Samsungs ad tho. Ill be honest I like a lot better. Yeah stuff was broken in too. But it also gave a good message of picking up the pieces to make something new. And while the ad was lazy and i find the "powered by AI" bit at the end counterintuitive, the specific message of the ad itself resonates a lot more to what creatives look for when they are being sold to Hopefully this clears some things up for anyonw that might still be confused, mixed a bit with my opinion

The primary message wasn't "we have a better tablet." The primary message was, "Apple doesn't value creators, we do." It's also laughable when someone who isn't marketing tries to tell marketers how they should really have done their job. Like dude, just stay in your lane.
