It is impressive to see Samsung catching up with Apple's optimization standards while retaining Android's customizability. Also note that even though S23 Ultra died 20 minutes before iPhone, it charges faster than an iPhone. (Update: It was observed in another battery drain test that speakers in S23 Ultra drew more power, like in music and video apps. The battery levels dropped faster in these apps compared to iPhone)

Hey Guys, just thought I'd pop in here and say thank you for all the support! 🙏 Glad so many of you have enjoyed the video 🔥I also wanted to quickly mention two things: 1. I see loads of you are saying this and that about screen resolutions and saying that because one phone is powering more pixels than another it affects the battery life. Well, I have been doing battery drain tests for years now and have noticed the difference is extremely minimal (if any at all) and depending on the phone, sometimes I've seen greater battery life from a phone running at it's native QHD resolution instead of having it dropped down to FHD res. Just some food for thought 😅 2. I have been testing plenty phones this year so unfortunately I couldn't include them all in this first test, but fear not! - I plan on testing battery drain on many other phones I currently have such as the HONOR Magic5 Pro (when I receive a stable software update and can actually download apps needed for this test), Xiaomi 13 (regular version, the smaller guy you know? lol), Vivo X90 Pro (Global with Dimensity 9200 chip), Vivo X90 Pro+ (China only release with the SD8G2 chipset), iQOO 11, RedMagic 8 Pro and even some upcoming phones I can't disclose just yet so be sure to hit subscribe, smash the notification bell and stay tuned! 😎

I am sure it takes hell lot of time to create such videos, so salute to you Nick for taking those efforts sincerely only for your audience which helps them in making the right decision according to their requirements. Like in this one I was amazed to see 14 pro Max in the first place, as I used to feel iphones are only good for cameras & overall performance but not battery. Happy to see massive improvements in SD 8 gen 2....so users have lot of really good options....once again thankyou Nick for this video. Please also make such video with S23 plus with other phones in comparison, would be really interesting to see that 👍🏼

Let's not forget that the S23 Ultra is even doing WQHD+ which means 34% more pixels to push around than the iPhone. This has a huge impact on the battery.

Lol phonebuff made a resolution based drain test and the change wasn't that huge. Just 10 mins gap.
@hermanstokbrood Жыл бұрын
@@billgates9426 Besides the 34% more pixels, the GPU department of the SoC of the sd 8 gen 2 is more powerful. This means testing games means more power delivery which means more efficiency. Apples and oranges..... If you say that pushing around 34% more pixels don't makes hardly any difference for the S23, it certainly deserves respect for the achievement of the Adreno GPU in the Qualcomm. But hey, do with it what you want. Just saying to keep it fair. Didn't mean to make your Apple heart bleed.

@nandan dutta I get good battery life on 5G too. It used to get warm on 5G, but since One UI 5.0, they made it auto-switch to 4G if the signal got too weak or spotty. Now it stays cool on 5G and doesn't drain a lot. The experience might be different for those with the Exynos.

1+ has seriously upped their game this year For the past two years, I've not been recommending anybody a OnePlus 9/Pro or 10 Pro/R because how mediocre they were But this year, i can confidently say it's the best phone of this year so far Great Battery, Fast Charging, Fantastic Display, Great Cameras, Faster Chipset, Reliable Ecosystem with OnePlus TV, Earbuds and Monitors. Only one issue is the software with ColorOS. If they manage to add a little bit more "Googleness" or Stock Android to these Phones, they'd be a serious competitors to the Samsung's and Xiaomi

Wow man! That was a great job and so people know I'm writing this on a Pixel 7 but I think the real winner here was the OnePlus 11 $800 which cost quite a few hundred dollars less than the Samsung ultra $1200 or the iPhone pro Max $1200. It came in third place but it cost $400 less. That's quite a lot. I'm not saying that's not the only thing to look at. Obviously cameras and the operating system and special extras. But anyway, I think the OnePlus 11 won this round and I'm typing this on my pixel 7 phone which probably gets worse battery life than all the rest of those. But I really like it, but there's no doubt that's 11 was the most impressive

All are new but the S22 Ultra is a few months old but I haven't used it personally and just sits and waits to be put into my videos from time to time. Fear not, the SOT I got on the S22U this time last year is identical to this time round since like I said, it's barely been used.

The new iPhone 15 Pro will move ahead further ahead again in September I think. Fast charging I see some like Xiaomi, but personally I'm happy to charge at night. As far as the android platform anyway, Samsung well out does others.
