I upgraded from 12 Pro Max to Samsung S24 Ultra, for the instagram influencer/content creator it has the best system (7 years of update), like a lot of functions and I love how simple it is to use all then with S24 Ultra 👏 Oh yes!! and I finally can have a better compatibility with Windows now.

He mentions that the videos on Instagram get compressed much more heavily on the Samsung than on the iPhone. Samsung is a great phone. Arguably better in a lot of ways. But it isn't better for Instagram and Snapchat.

I was wondering how "extremely careful" would make it have those scratches you pointed out but when you exemplified how you can't charge it on a magsafe charger I understood your definition of extremely careful and in that case I treat my phone with super mega extra double triple care , I handle it as if was made of thin glass

Ever since the iPhone Magsafe, there has been magsafe compatible cases for Android phones. They are also available for the S24Ultra. Makes charging much more convenient, they even work on an angle.

@@mike309saa That would true but it's actually just metallic so doesn't affect the S-Pen. I have experienced this before on a Note3 case taking it back to Samsung repair only to find it worked perfectly fine without the case with a magnetic clasp.

For the dark mode, I really hope they add the possibility to have it black again. Half the point was that it utilizes the AMOLED capabilities by completely turning the LED's off, and thus, saves a ton of battery.

Thanks for the great reviews. You commented on the cell reception and for someone living in an area with a very week signal it has me a little worried. Would you consider doing a video on which phones get the best cell reception. I know that there are a lot of variables but your opinion would be very valuable to someone like myself.

I suspect the answer to this will be; yes and no. Read a story about a customer who had the phone store guy test transmission strength on 3 phones and one was weak, one was middling, and one was a blowtorch. Given the hundreds of components and the fact that each one of those components may be plus or minus 5% of whatever voltage it is they're supposed to be using, that adds up to an almost infinitely complex problem to solve. It's kind of a miracle that Smartphones work at all so given all that I would say the best thing you can do is have them test three phones for you and pick the one that's the strongest. If he were to recommend a smartphone with where that model has a strong transmission strength, you would still be subject to the same problem of figuring out whether that particular handset had good transmission strength or not electronics are variable just like anything else the more expensive components are less variable, but they're still variable.

I wouldn't rate signal reception based on signal bars as that is somewhat arbitrary and are not standarized. There are apps like G-NET Track that can let you know exactly the received signal levels for 3G/4G/5G etc. Samsung and Apple also have engineering menus which can show this data as well. Similarily there are apps to measure received WiFi signal strength.

I've been testing it, and honestly believe the only reason it doesn't come with a pre-applied screen protector is because it would instantly reduce the effects of the glass and cause glare. I also thought they could use the 40€ anti-reflection protector they're selling, but you just need to see the reviews of people who bought to get why they don't.

Still running a Note 8 that I got on launch day back in 2017. That part about the S-pen is very accurate. Even before when I had the Note 3. Would a larger battery be nice? Sure, but the amount of times I have been thankful for the added functionality that little pen gives in my opinion outweighs it. The s-pen being on the left side is a tad interesting though as it is on the right side (the side you said it should be on) on my phone. Time and time again I have thought about switching to Apple and narrowing down the amount of ecosystems I deal with as my career field is still dominated by Apple products but the fact that the pro max phones still don't have some sort of apple pencil (perhaps an apple pencil mini?) for them yet has been a huge holdup for me.

Just "upgraded" a Note 8 (best phone I've ever owned) to the S24 Ultra. It's like "Opposite Day." Stylus on the wrong side (unless you're left-handed)...volume control moved to the right side of the unit. Aside from that initial disorientation, I'm not getting many signal bars. Just going to have to roll with it.

I had a note8 ( one of the best phones I ever had just before the s22 ultra I have now) and I wish I would have kept it longer. It truly was the very first phone I had that didn't break as easy, and I didn't feel the need to upgrade fast either.

I've got the S23 ultra as well, but I just want to see what the difference btw the S23U and S24U will look like 6 months in considering most of the stuff this year are all software based. So it'll be interesting to see what trickles down to the S23 lineup and how they hold up their own against the S24 lineup.

iPhone 15 Pro Max: $1199 - it incurs development costs for the hardware, OS, iCloud, data centers maintenance, the App Store & other services, apps developed for iPhone, Webkit, Swift, and so on. Samsung S24 Ultra: $1299 - they have significantly lower costs because Google & Qualcomm supports 80% of them. No need to mention that on iPhone, you enjoy better optimized & designed apps, consistent performance for all users (Samsung is the only company selling 3 different processors with 3 different performances), and, most importantly, you receive OS updates on time, the very minute they are launched, not after a few months! The iPhone and Google Pixel are the only phones that truly justify their price.

I got mine on day 1 of launch and WOW, this display is out of this world. I am coming from a small S23 and I'm blown away. Couldn't be more happy with this phone and can't recommend it enough. If you can get a good pre sale deal which included trade ins, it's an easy recommendation.

@@death244 It depends on the individual. The S23 series is still fantastic and should last for many more years. I don't typically buy things for myself and this was a treat for my birthday. What Samsung does so well is their pre sale offers are really hard to beat. The trade in, plus storage upgrade plus $100 e-voucher I got here in Canada. Took $990 off the phone. If I had an S23 Ultra it would have been $1,100 off the phone. I wouldn't recommend paying full price as it's very expensive.

A well-organized review as always even though I can argue that many people actually still enjoy holding and using the base S24. I have tested the smaller S24 on my channel running the new Exynos, Temps, and Battery drain, and I dare to say that even the base variants this year is impressive, Feel free to check out the numbers for yourself.

No issues with signal, screen or other things mentioned. Signal is great for me. As for camera performance on instagram and etc... i really dont see the fuss about it if you are not a creator. When i rarely share something i just share it from my gallery and the quality is superb.

Just got my S24+ yesterday, upgraded from S22. It's been gerat so far, the software feels so smooth compared to the S22, and the battery life feels significantly better on the S24 even when using QHD resolution and 120hz. My data signal is actually great and works just fine. One thing that i've noticed that the phone actually feels colder in my hand over something like S22.

I just ordered my s24 ultra coming from a Note 9, its lasted me years and finally the battery is starting to show signs. The only issue I ever encountered was my S-Pen randomly makes the noise its been lost but only had done it maybe 10 times in 5 years. Looking forward to this new one!

So I am getting my s24 tomorrow and I am super pumped as I have the flip 5 which has been unimpressive from the start. I thought having an outside screen that you could use would be cool but I find myself flipping my phone open for almost everything I used to on the smaller screen too. It isn't as great as youd think. The camera and battery are lacking as well and I thought about waiting for the new fold but after seeing the rendering of the new fold and flip they aren't where they should be yet. They are like car compa ies taking advantage of every little upgrade each year so I will be coming back to a normal smart phone and the s24 looks like the iPhone killer. The things he complains about are present somewhat in the apple phones as well. As far as the face scanner I used mine on the s22 and the zflip and it works fine. Mayne it doesn't work quite as smoothly as the apple phone but I find that with ai becoming so widely used now and new phones putside of the mainstream being able to clo?e your face literally with 20 photos of a person to the point it can unlock an iPhone that means their face unlock isn't as secure as the fingerprint once again. Besides I don't see the problem with using the fingerprint I like it better than the face. I can unlock my phone while in any position I don't have to point it at my face and I also already have my hands on the phone anyway because I'm holding it so if you don't want to use the scanner you're just super lazy in my opinion. The part about samsung making you try and use the samsung apps. You just make the samsung apps turn off. You can't turn apple features off and the last time I set uo an apple phone for my dad it took us 30 minutes just to set up the phone because of all the crap he had to do to set up all the apple features to use the phone. It's the same thing but worse. Once you're set up on one phone it is super easy to smart switch your phone to a newer model and be ready just like apple. I'll admit that samsungs apps like messages aren't as good as they should be but the fact that I can run Google apps or any apk or homemade app I want means I have unlimited choices. I can even download an app that let's me have apples IM app or the skin and it feels no different. This phone is going to shit on the iPhone 15 pro. My dad has an iPhone 15 pro he jmgot it about a month ago and I get my samsung s24 ultra 1 TB delivered tomorrow and I am dying to get it and hold it for the first time out of the box. I love getting the latest and greatest every year. It's the one thing I have to have and the one thing I pay for when I don't need to because I love technology especially when it comes to the one piece of tech that we use all day everyday. None of the things he is complaining about are even close to killing the phone and a lot are just personal problems that iPhone users just aren't used to so they act like it's a negative but in my opinion samsung has had the best phone on market since the samsung s21 came out. It competed with Apple in battery and was even in computing power they were almost dead even and the camera has beaten iPhone now for a few years. The iPhone 15 pro camera is really amazing though. I have found myself using my dad's camera over my flip 5 of course since the camera on this flip sucks but their camera takes amazing photos however I can't wait to put this camera to the test and my dad and I have already planned to set up some tests to do these two phones side by side in real world tests and see what happens! I got him am apple watch s9 as well and I have the samsung classic watch 6 so we will compare these as well. I already know I win in style. The round watch beats that square thing all day however his watch os seems better or at least more out together than mine. My watch is easier to see and read and his has a better battery or at least it lasts longer but we will see just how well apple can keep up with the samsung s24 ultra. I am betting all my money on the fact that my new s24 ultra will win out in almost every if not every contest we have! Samsung is the best phone manufacturer. I've been with them since the s4 came out and they are still making the best smart phone on the market in my opinion! I do what I want when I want on my samsung open source phone and it is marvelous. Apple iPhone is for people who don't know how to clear their cache or work their laptop well. It's a beginner phone for folks who need guidance on how to do everything. Samsung phones are for those who know what they are doing with a computer and know how to get the most out of their device! I have 7k channels on my phone and free movies and TV shows whenever I want because I don't have to shop in the apple store. There is no comparison!

Oh yeah I went from s22u to s23u and I'm constantly using the camera to zoom to see far away stuff, especially when traveling. Idk how apple can claim to have the best camera when they don't even have a native 10x lens, which is honestly so useful in daily life. As opposed to s pen, which I thought I would use all the time...but not really. Maybe people that work in different careers or had different habits to be would find it more useful

I tested this phenomenon myself in showroom models at Mediamarkt. When you use Standard mode on the ultra the colours are more vibrant and has higher brightness than the vivid mode in my experience. But if you compare vivid mode on the ultra and vivid on the s24+, the plus model looks bette, vibrant and brighter. Even in 2k and full hd+. And because of this i think it is a software thing and not something with the coating. But im not a engineer so who knows. So i would suggest just use Standard mode if you have a ultra untill they fix it. Btw im from Europe so the s24+ showroom model has the exynos chip and not the snapdragon. I double checked it.

in my opinion, after switching from an iphone x to the galaxy A53 like the fingerprint scanner way more, with face ID you always had to bring the phone to your face, now i just need to bring my finger to the screen, its a small detail but i enjoy it a lot since i like to lay it next to my keyboard on the desk.

Great review. For the record, the stronger glass isn't measured by surface scratches. Before you ask, I used to build secondary focusing mirrors for telescopes when I was younger, and I know a decent amount about glass. Nearly every item you buy that has glass in it has a coating, and that is what is scratching. The increased strength is more about impact resistance. The coatings are what provide things like fingerprint resistance, reduced glare etc.

For editing those photos, the editor automatically adds a watermark at the bottom to make a difference between what's been modified and what not. Well you can remove it tho later, that's another story

I have it, it is very square, it is a productivity beast though (Dex is just crazy good now! The way good lock let's you increase the density of apps when you multitask so you see a bit more). My only gripe here is the animations, they are still not as polished as OnePlus or pixel. It's the little things, items snap a few pixels in the start and end of animations, physics are sometimes a bit rough, the lack of smooth transitions that were in my OnePlus 6 but are not here(like notification icons doing the cool transition when you pull down the shade or the smooth transition between notifications and controls) and stuff like that. It still doesn't feel like a 1000€+ smartphone.

Same sentiments with the signal. When I switched to s24 from iphone 14 pro, my signal has dropped significantly inside our house. In ip14pro I get full bars, but with the s24 I barely get 1 bar.

There is a bug with the radio and the way to click out of it that the work around is to go into airplane mode for about 5 seconds and then back out and you'll regain the speed immediately instantly, I don't know when it falls back, but I have absolutely noticed it especially when downloading updates of apps and things like that, even though I'm showing full bars of 5G ultrawide, but that might help what's going on there. Remember the carrier choice for the Samsung is going to affect all of your signal pickups so beware of that. In the states here I'm on Verizon with this phone, and I've experienced Verizon 5G ultrawide on an old Motorola one ace, which was absolutely just stupidly horrible, but now it's night and day. Verizon in the midwest on the 24 is near perfect

Currently using the S24 Ultra and can say the signal is a location thing as mine is always at 4 bars. Its a great phone as I'm switching from the 13PM, its a great phone and 100% recommend it. PS Apparently Insta and Snap are going to be optimised to be able to take full advantage of Samsung's native camera features but I'm not sure when.

Still rocking my s21 ultra and I still love it 3 years later so i won't be upgrading this year unless the Z Fold 6 literally blows me away. Whatever my next phone is, it will be another Samsung galaxy ultra or a z fold. I have the same problem with the signal. I have the phone for a week now and a haven't seen more than 2 bars. I event had to go to a different city at one point and while driving the phone lost all the signal a few times. 5G also rarely seen... My old OnePlus 9 pro didn't had this problem

The fingerprint scanner is fast enough so you don't need to use the 2d face id...And not to forget the fingerprint scanner is way more convenient than face id since you just need to tap it and it unlocks,without even turning on the screen.

I ve been on Samsung before last one was zfold 4 but then I bought IPhone 15Pm and I can tell you Face ID is way better than finger print , so good that you forget it exists, not only for unlocking your phone , but for every thing. If you want to login a website you don’t even need to enter your details. Face ID just knows . With my zfold I had to press on the screen for connexion then use my fingerprint .

You can get a MagSafe case that will let the phone attach to all your MagSafe chargers. Easy fix there. As for iPhone-level face scanning, I honestly don't see the need when the fingerprint scanner is so good. I face unlock in tandem with fingerprint, but I always go for the fingerprint scanner out of muscle memory. Sometimes my face gets recognized before I hit the scanner and that's nice, but the scanner is fast and accurate enough that I just don't see any need for upgrades. I also use Smart Lock, which is inconsistent and sometimes doesn't keep the phone unlocked when it should, but usually does, so at home or in my car it stays unlocked. All that together, it feels like I don't have to bother with unlocking the phone so much.

If you're using the fingerprint scanner, I would recommend turning the face recognition off. It's not particularly secure and can easily be tricked with a photo.

I am early into the video, but I can confirm. I used to think iPhones felt a little smother when I got my S22 Ultra, but with this new one UI 6.0 update, my phone genuinely feels 3 generations newer and fresh out of the box. i have no idea how they did it, but it feels so much smoother than even the top of the line iPhones I have felt now. Everything is absurdly responsive, and high refresh, and bouncy, tight, elastic, sharp, everything. Easily the best android update I have ever gotten on any phone ever.

@@LeoStep93 1) Magsafe - I also came from an iPhone to this phone(iPhone13PM to this), But i never used magsafe accessories in the first place, so i do not find it a downgrade 2) Face-scan - Samsung's approach towards it is not the same as Apple...So i do not believe it is something that's a "gaping hole"... Also, Fingerprint scanner is amazingly fast 3) Signal Strength - I get full bar almost all the time with proper 5G connectivity 4) Majority that would buy this phone wouldn't be coming from S23U or iP15PM, So Camera is gonna be really big upgrade for most people

RE the signal thing, I feel its a long running issue where the phone is always scanning for the best connection and switching. Not a bad thing apparently, but the UK has horrible 4g infrastructure and I assume 5g is just as bad or worse + and broadband service is queue-based. The impact is, lets say it is your morning commute or it is lunchtime in your office or the evening commute... when everyone is trying to connect to low-capacity masts but your android phone is hopping about trying to jump the queue, it essentially gets no service whilst iOS users stay in one place, and get their service. i will note this problem is meant to be insidious so ony phone I would have full bars, but not get any download indicator.
