I have the iPhone 15 PM and the battery is phenomenal! It is by far the most optimized phone I’ve ever had. Nevertheless it’s also the most limited ever: on my previous S22 ultra I could change all camera settings from the camera app itself, not on iOS; I could move photos from the camera to a folder and then just copy it to my NAS, that is not possible on iOS (it’s far more complex, though we can say it is somewhat possible); on Android you have a desktop like experience, not with iOS or iPadOS. Etc etc etc etc etc. that makes the iOS less intensive and uses less battery. Heck, the iPhone camera app can’t even PAUSE a video while recording! At the end I left Android/Samsung because Android phones usually have too much “Candybar” aspect ratio and far worse video (yes, even the S24U doesn’t show as much detail, smoothness and zoom change smoothness as the iPhone). Portrait mode is also far better on the iPhone. Those are some things that keep me by the iPhone. If that changes in the future, I have absolutely no reason to stand by Apple!

Well the iphone pro max is rated 16hr while the Samsung just under 14hr on gsam. I don't see how one can come to the conclusion that the Samsung's battery degrades faster when it's simply the iphone having better battery life from the start.

Also 3d mark stress test was performed in throttling state for Samsung giving the super low score. That means logically than less power has been used in those 20min. But anyways I also don't feel my S23U battery life to be enough, battery anxiety is definitely a thing.... For the record my battery has been taken care of perfectly and testing it still shows just a few percentage drop for the last year and a half almost.

In my case, i usually use the "maximum protection"(80 percent charge is max limit), for S24U. Only when I'm out travelling, i put in the maximum battery option (full charge). I'm a heavy user of my phone but i get great battery life on 100 percent charge probably because my battery degrades a bit slower. Again, my tests are not scientific. I do feel S24U has fantastic battery life but in all honesty this is the first "flagship" phone I've owned in a decade. Generally i used to rock oneplus and Motorola (my previous phone and only regret in purchasing a phone).

A possible variable is that the S24 ultra has more ram and usually keeps more apps running in the background which drain more battery. My iPhone usually kills the 3rd of a 4th app in the multitasking row, and require restart when switching to them. While the android i use nothing phone 2 keeps 5-6 apps going strong when switching back.

Mo, try the Oneplus 12. Camera wise is really good. My wife has the S24 Ultra, and the Oneplus absolutely has insane details without overshapening. With video it is quite fine too. Battery is just insanity on the Oneplus

Same battery size and battery tells you how much off the CPU and OS is from a more refined calibration. First of all your comparing 1200$ phone with 1800$ phone, Then... 1. iPhone has ai features now and will get more in the future. 2. The anti glare screen is indeed a feature, but it reduces the actual brightness a lot, so it's more of a preference question. 3. Samsung will actually get 7 years of the OS update and 7 for security updates. So will iPhone. 4. Slow mo at 4k is indeed Samsung's benefit. 5. As Samsung has the anti glare, it's 2600 nits feels slightly less bright than iPhone's 2000. 6. Samsung's GPU is a little superior on paper, but sadly doesn't show a big difference, just for not being well optimised. 7. Samsung is a winner for the DEX. But. Check iPhone's video recording capabilities and compare. iPhone holds battery for 20% more while being able to charge faster. Once again compare the price.

Samsung battery chemistry is bad, since other KZbinrs did mention that old galaxy phones batteries expanded and personally my friend who owns an S10 had his back glass adhesive getting loss because the battery expanded

Try the same test , but with the Samsung on light performance mode , personally I believe it's fair that way because if you speed test app launch and WiFi/ mobile data speed test u find out iPhone performs slower probably to save battery so If u use light mode on Samsung u will get that underclock iPhone uses. ( there's even a setting on the iPhones that Apple placed it there after people complained about 10 years ago that their iPhones were slowing down , that setting enables and disables that underclock wich works according to the battery health, the less battery health % u have.. the slower the phone gets and battery last similar to day one) Try disabling that setting on iPhone or enable light mode on the Samsung and redo the test , it would be really interesting to disable that iPhone setting and battery test it , I think nobody has ever done it.

The iPhone only throttles when battery health is below 80% and no way an iPhone 15PM will be that low yet, and it is off by default, so that is no longer applicable. Light mode makes little difference. I saw loveroftech video and light mode was worse. A lot of nonsense on the internet and sadly you have been misled or misinformed. I have seen about 20 tests between iPhone 15PM and S24U and iPhone wins them all. The latest was Techdroider where the iPhone won by 1.5 hours. It appears that since its release the iPhone has been updated to better efficiency but the S24U has got slightly worse.

@@wheelyflac the iPhone 15 promax on low power mode also improves Battery Life, you can mess around with settings, watch videos at 740p, turn brightness down to 0 et cetera et cetera and we could go on forever flexing about what is better. But the reality is for the majority of people using default settings, the iPhone, with a much smaller battery in a year old phone has better battery life. The new iPhone with a larger battery and a much more efficient chip will just extend the lead.
