Problem is that this is tested on Wi Fi but most people use phone MOBILE. That is where S23 outshines S24 because of much moe efficient modem with Snaprdagon. Samsung modem makes phone overheat/crash in intense use cases like 5G video call or making 4k 60 video on 5G for long period of time.

Excellent Test. Congratulations. It would be interesting to see the results of this same test, however, done under mobile coverage. With WiFi, phones last longer and longer. I think that these Samsung are all the American versions, which are equipped with Snapdragon processors. S24 = Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 ; S23 = Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 ; S22 = Snapdragon 8 Gen 1; Because the S24 sold in Italy with an Exynos 2400 processor has worse performance than the old S23. The battery lasts less and the processor heats up more.

1 month update. Is a $240 S22 better buy then a $430 S23? Both have 256GB. I'd expect S22 to be around 86-87%BH & S23 maybe around 92-93%. Is the nearly $200 cost savings worth it? I really dont want spend more then $250 on a "new" phone. Thanks! Edit: I game very little. Phone mostly on stand-by & I typically use the phone maybe an hr-2 during the day-early afternoon due to worth schedule. I'm pretty sure the S22 can easily get me through the day, but my 13 mini unfortunately is @ 86%BH and sometimes gets to 60% by the time I get home..love the mini, but battery is terrible!

the game may have automatically switched to power-saving mode at 10% and because the S24 performance is so great it can be hard to notice that it's throttling if the game is simple and not very demanding then you may not see any difference at all

You should've tell us wich processor the s24 is using. After a lot of searchs, I've found that s24 with exynos 2400 has a better performance compared to the old Snapdragon 8 gen 2 but a worst energy control, so it spends the battery faster and by the performance presented it appears that you used the s24 snapdragon 8 gen 3. The video was pretty good, but in a next video you'd could specify the devices processors.

These are: displaying of non black imagery on screen which requires lighting up pixels. Screen is one of the most battery hungry components in a phone. The second is optical image stabilisation which is only required when the phone is held horizontally and moving. Neither of those were happening so the test is not a true reflection.... If you put it a little higher and make it color, the amoled screen consumes more energy than the black one, and the energy goes to the real life.

Wow I remember the S22 being far worse. I've had the three, and I felt the S22 was borderline unusable for me... I'm a very light user, using the phone mainly just for calls and messages (go figure), and the S22 would too often not last the day, which historically for me, no other phone I've had has failed to do (well, maybe the Pixel 4 as well). My current S24 SDg3 has managed to stretch for almost two days at times!

Actually setting 120hz better than 60hz because in 60hz adaptive refresh rate it goes off in the other hand 120hz adaptive refresh rate on so it goes from 24 to 120hz so its typically better and theres some others things may effect like dark theme always on display processing speed u should set it to optimised and using 5g may effect
