Very impressive, nice to see all the extra care taken with cleaning the phone afterwards and clamping the screen etc. I have an S5 here with a non-working gyro. Chip replacement is a bit beyond me but was hoping I could run some hot air over it and have a lucky day :) Unfortunately just getting to the board looks trickier than I had imagined. I didn't realise the screen had to come off first. If I still lived in the UK I'd happily visit and pay good money to watch you do it. Thanks again for the video and have a great day.

Hi, please help, I replaced the charging port on my Samsung Galaxy s5 g900f and when I put it back together again and tiny piece flew out (that was a green colour with silver bits in) but when I came to switch it back on everything seemed to work ok apart from the bottom part of the screen (where phone, messages etc icons) are which are NON RESPONSIVE and also keyboard is NONE RESPONSIVE TOO. The only way I can get keyboard to work is to keep tuning my mobile to landscape. Does this mean the problem is either the lcd digitizer or is it the motherboard......any help would be appreciated.

Romario Morgan ohh yeah definitely if is getting hot as well. that is a sign that motherboard is failing

Hello there i have a GALAXY S5 that boots normally but then will shut down randomly and get stuck in bootloop until i remove the battery and reboot again. Is that a power IC problem? It will charge and do anything normally until it shuts down randomly.

yes that could be caused only by EMMC Chip. which is know as hard disk of the phone, or HDD. Cheers

I have a samsung S5 which has some issues like when i try to turn it on, it lights up the screen and shows samsung logo but doesn't get properly on stays on that logo. hi there, my screen was working just seemed like the power button or battery issue stop it switching on , anyway i did hold down the power and home buttons whilst holding the volume, i ended up in down load mode now i can not get out of it and i never made a note of the product name at the top left corner when i got to that infomation , is there any way to find the product name as i am now stuck in download mode , plese any advice short of what you did above, many thanks

+alaster harmons hi. Remove the battery should show the model name. Or use chimera to restore the software in auto recovery. It will recognise automatically the phone model.

+MolotovRocket13 that phone has liquid damage or corrosion near to audio ic chip. Need to be open and cleaned with a falcon 530 or replaced the audio chip. Cheers mate

It's very interesting video. I have sumsung galaxy s5 the problem with it that the phone tries to power on, but fails most the time i see the samsung logo sometimes the others just a light in the middle of the screen then shut off again. I tried many different batteries, but all the same fail to power on the phone. Usually I press on the power button but then nothing sometimes, no light no logo, but there is that connecting sound to pc when you hold power button for few seconds I'm suspecting the problem could be hardware. Any information will much appreciated. Thanks

this a emmc error mate, it means that your memory is not getting accessed by your phone. Need to replace the chip, very difficult jobs as well to perform

Thanks for the video. After taking a heavy impact in a bike crash, my S5 no longer powers on or even shows an LED when plugged in. I tore it down and the housing above the power supply is bent inward a little. It seems like a dead power supply chip to me. What would you recommend? Thanks!

Hi Mark. It needs a better look under microscope to check all around the Board. I would suggest you to try a new charging port, and if the board is still dead, then is definitely some board disconnection between electronic components. If u have a multimetter u can check the power on the board in different testing points. Ceers

I have a 5s which powers up with white Samsung logo then phone just vibrates and restarts. also when you plug charger in, it reads zero charge and it restarts the phone. I know there is no problem with battery. What can I try?

+brynhild brunhild hi in your case is just battery issue. Or check charging port , it may be just a liquid damage corrosion which drains the battery current to fast

hy mate, you can check the board after the pm ic. if is not power after, reflow or replace it! U need the schematics to know what to do. Or just by experience.

hey mate, i have a dead s5 here just not sure whic chip to replace, the phone won't switch on, eventhough I replaced the battery with 20% full one and tried again to switch on, nothing happened, and I even tried to charge it with my charger a working charger, left it plugged in for 15 minutes and then returned to battery to my other working s5 and it dropped from 20 to 16 percent, apparently I think i have two problems here one of them that I'm sure of is the charging port, but don't know which chip IC to replace in the board. +Dailam Abrahim check on the board the oc with these initials. Max. Just try reflow first at 400 degrees for 1 min max. Using flux from AMTECH. Let me know after. And make sure u cover with keton tape around to protect the other parts.
