Oh my oh my! I was an electronics engineer all my life. As a hobby I've repaired clocks & watches right down to component level. But you Sir - take the medals for this. What have we come to when I feel unable to risk this sort of intrusion? I came here because I can't get a 3.5mm plug into the audio socket. It IS an audio socket isn't it? I think its blocked or maybe its just not an audio socket? I have tried some hope & poke to clear it and started to wonder if I could disassemble it. I think I'll go without the headphones..... ! I see you are wearing an anti static (ground) strap on your wrist which is always a good idea when working with components.

Why do you need it?

@@Jojokirinrs3m The strap is hooked up to a ground somewhere and prevents any static electricity spark while handling sensitive parts. A static discharge can damage or ruin transistors, chips etc.

Hi! Just wanted to stop by and ask a question, can you tell me what's wrong with my Samsung Galaxy S5? Other than it being dropped many more times and battery abused more times than I would like to admit by my sister. I got it a new battery because the other one was a bit bloated but my phone still gets hot when being played. it charges fine, but even though I got a new battery I still have to keep it on power saving mode for it to be around normal battery use. And lastly I think it's just the glue, but the phone smells a bit, not like smoke or corrosion or anything it just smells on the silver edge/case thing. Can you tell me what's wrong with my Samsung Galaxy S5?

The glue was much stronger than I expected. I see that I have not been the only one due to the number of dislikes (for those who have the show dislike extension). One must heat it very much with the heat gun, to the point that the screen takes off by itself due to gravity. I think that is the only option to not break the screen.
