My battery and tool kit didn't come with glue. Do u have to glue it back together? Or will cover fall off?

I watched another video on this. They talked about the need to remove old glue and how, not just around the phone case but also under the battery. The new battery should also have glue on the back? That's what the other video showed. Not enough vocal explanation here for me.
