Thank you soo much! My S8+ was having a similar issue but my situation was a bit different. The blue contact pad on the button itself had snapped off and was making it difficult to push. I popped the button off and pulled out the blue contact pad, added a small dab of superglue to glue the contact back on the button. put the button back on the phone and now I can turn the screen on and off again!

I didn't have those tweezers but luckily had a sharp box knife which was good enough to remove the partially stuck pieces from the power and bixby button slots and I was able to quickly replace them with the new ones. Thanks much.

Genius idea. When using this method I noticed the blue plastic part on my power button was broken. I removed the Bixby button and swapped them over. Now I have a working power button and dont keep catching the Bixby button by mistake lol

How about for a regular Samsung Galaxy S10, can the buttons be replaced without taking apart. My power and bixby buttons pop halfway out every time they are pressed. Don’t want to send to a Samsung service center or repair shop if this is something the average user can fix if they buy some replacement buttons online. Cannot find nobody online showing if these buttons can be changed without disassemble as I don’t want to break the buttons pulling them all the way out to replace them. The buttons still function fine when pressed despite them trying to come out when pressed.

I love how samsung made it replaceable just by pulling them out. Since opening up the whole phone with back glass and mobo out is too much. My note 9 power button is malfunctioning, I think I'll have to do this. Whereas on my G7, once the button is broken it cannot be fixed even with the new one. You will have to change the whole middle frame. Shame!
