My teenage son and I viewed your video this afternoon and followed your instructions for repairing our Samsung front loading washer and now we have clean clothes. My husband is out of town and my daughter was delighted that we were able to fix the washer on our own, well with your help. Thanks so much!:)

Great video. I had the same issue with the ND flashing with no draining or spin. After following your directions removed the hoses and pump and found major blockage in both. Digging the scale and sediment out of the pump was the hardest job. The good thing was it took less than 30 mins to fix start to finish and the washing now works fine without an expensive service call. Thanks so much!

You just saved me a bunch of $$. Took out the motor (after draining the water from the hose into buckets and towels around the motor for what was left) and there was a flat rock inside. Put it back together and it's running normally again. Thanks for taking the time to make this video. Watching you guys fix it like it's no big deal gave me the confidence to attempt this fix.

Worked perfectly thank you! I had a flat rock stuck in the spinner 1. Take off the flat pannel behind washer 2. Take off the 2 tubes connecting to that pump (WATCH OUT, WATER WILL COME OUT) 3. Unscrew the 3 big screws (With rachet goes better 4. Take out pump 5. Unscrew the 4 screws that links the pump and spinner together 6. Remove the strange thing 7. DONE redo those steps backward to connect it back

Yes, a lot of water comes out. Can you tell me how to drain it easier than what I had to go through? I struggled and wet the entire floor. But I am an amateur stay at home lawyer mother. Thanks.

Dude you da man. After taking a few things apart no luck. Even went through the test mode and it was either the relay on the control board or like you pointed out " something stuck in the pump. I took the pump out and low and behold two nickel sized rocks were in the pump. Put it back on and the drain now works. Thanks bro!
@collinsmith13514 жыл бұрын
This was perfect! One thing to add is the electrical cords you must disconnect from the pump prior to removing it. I suggest taking the hoses off, then rotating the pump clockwise so you can to the wire attachment. Thank you! For a great video. Believe it or not, my exact problem was a nickle in the pump as well!

Thanks for posting! I just got the dreaded ND today in a Samsung similar to yours. I will try your fix. Now I see why they moved the filter to the front of the machine in newer models!

I called SAMSUNG 800 number which they were going to make me an appointment with a serviceman...I said NO! Told my wife to google it and here I am! It took me longer to remove washer from laundry room and drain the water than to take the water pump out and remove a piece of metal that froze it up. When you get a ND code....JUST FOLLOW THE VIDEO...My washer was making a buzzing sound which told me the pump was not turning but getting power.....THANKS for the quick tip and video!!!!

Thanks, helpful video. I had to go one step further (like Goby) and disassemble the pump (4 screws, one for the plastic cover, 3 holding the pump together) to find the culprit, which turned out to be a rock. Though easy. Worst part was the water draining out...not easy to get a bucket or bowl in there to capture the water, though probably should have planned ahead better for that. One tip: the inside edges of the steel panel outer casing around the hole are sharp. I managed to slice the side of my hand while struggling to get the tubing re-attached. Suggest throwing a towel over the edge to be safe. I agree with Piyush Patel, there should be a drain filter that is easy to remove for cleaning and removing debris.
@dskillzhtown8 жыл бұрын
+Kevin Strong I had the same experience. I had to take apart the pump as well and also sliced my hand, lol. In newer models, the pump is up front and you only need a screwdriver to access it. The hoses are also positioned in such a way that you can put a pot or something underneath to capture the water. It is a much easier process with newer models. So much easier that I contemplated selling my current machine and buying a new one.

OMG I can't believe this worked exactly! It was a nickel in the pump - just like the video. My only problem was I didn't see how you disconnected the pump and hoses so it took some extra minutes to figure that out (I've never done any kind of repair). Washer back to normal - thanks!!

Great video - I found a bra under-wire in there preventing the pump from spinning. If you have a wet dry vac get the most water out of the machine as you possibly can before taking out the motor. There is more water in there than it looks!

Got a ND code... I took the back apart disconnected the hose-to-pump and pump-to-drain - nothing is clogged. Also did a continuity test on the drain motor. My question is, when it was in the drain cycle, did your machine make a noise from the pump attempting to drain water before it displayed the ND? Mine does nothing at all and I'm starting to think it may be the control board...

I have nd error on my wisher, I checked and cleared the pump and drain pipe, it is all clean. But after hours I put everything back and test it. The ND error came back again. Is it possible there is a filter somewhere need to clean? Or other issue can cause this? Btw I did only observe the black pipe down there I did not see anything inside.

great Vid! thanks. unfortunately, my friend gave me this washer and swore it worked fine except for the draining. well after removing the free drink chit out of the black hose (what a horrible design, btw, why no screen inside you have to ask)....the washer would not work right. it leaked all over the floor, dripping underneath the tub, it would spin one direction for about ten seconds, stop, go the other way. so i put it back in my truck to haul it off. fyi in case you are thinking of buying one, not one of the three appliance repair guys in town will work on a front loader of any type. they say when you fix one thing, pretty soon something else breaks. my old washer is still working fine and has no computers in it to go bad. simple is better!

Very helpful. Found a quarter. But the washer fails to continue the cycle. It stops when it is supposed to drain even after I removed the quarter. I also went into the quick test mode. All works except for drain, which only works 1 out of 10 attempts on average. Wondering if it could be the water level sensor or PCB? thanks

I took my drain pump apart and found a small metal piece lodged in the pump motor. I ended up taking out the inner and outer drum. Then I separated the outer drum and found the spider flange was corroded and falling apart. I ended up changing the spider flange and then i also cleaning the washer and the hoses. I put the entire machine back together and I think the problem with these flat rocks people are finding is coming from the spider flange. Just removing the debris from the pump and hi fiveing the spouse is a temporary solution. My two cents. Jim

I found a quarter stuck in the drain pump, removed it and reconnected everything, but machine would not spin and "nd" code still showing up. Ordered a new pump and still no spin and "nd" code comes on after a while. I took the pump off and set the machine for spin only cycle and it did run the cycle. Connected the pump again and tried the quick wash cycle. It started doing it but, when it got to draining, it stopped and sat there for a while and then the "nd" code came on. I am suspecting the pump is not getting power from the main board. What do you think? Please, HELP!!!!!!!

If anyone is getting ND and there's no Voltage at your pump, there's a common problem with the control board where the relay breaks away on one pin. The relay can be purchased from Amazon for about $10. I just cut the back of the plastic away from the board to allow me to solder it.

Honestly, I don't remember. I don't think that it belongs there as it could be preventing the pump impeller from turning and thus not draining. See if you can manually turn the impeller.

This washer is made for such problem because it has no drain filter and after few years outer casing fill with debris and dirt. Samsung makes use and throw type china style products, they do not care about customers. They are copy caters but they do not copy wisely and we suffer. There is no way how to clean outer casing the area between inner drum and outer casing. All kind of mold develop in this space which cases sever heath issues. Never use samsung products.

Please!!!! Mr. eallevato, give some idea of what the problem could be.
@eallevato9 жыл бұрын
Angel Make sure that the two hoses are clear and free from any debris. If they are clear, I would check the electrical diagram to see what voltage powers the pump. I would then pull the pump and bench test it with the appropriate voltage. Be sure to secure the pump prior to testing, as it may vibrate when you apply voltage. Good luck and please report back with the results.
@angelperez94929 жыл бұрын
eallevato It will not work with neither of the pumps. Now, if I disconnect the pump, it works fine. I noticed that when I open the door, it doesn't turn on. I'm not sure if it should turn on when I open the door, like the dryer does.
@angelperez94929 жыл бұрын
eallevato Forgive my ignorance, but I do not know how to test the pump with the proper voltage. Could you explain, please!
@eallevato9 жыл бұрын
Angel Perez There are door interlock switches that prevent the machine from turning on if the door is open.It sounds like you are not comfortable working around electricity. I would take both pumps to an Appliance repair/parts store and have them test the pumps for you. If the pumps test fine, then the problem is probably on the main circuit board.
@angelperez94929 жыл бұрын
eallevato I will do that. I'll take the [umps somewhere for check-up. Thanks a lot for your attention to my nightmare.

Problem will come again again after few years of age of this machine because it has no drain from where you can remove dirt means machine pump will jam frequently until you open the whole machine and clean it properly. To open the whole machine is hard and only trained mechanic can do it and they cost aleast half of the machine price. Without cleaning the machine properly if you will change the pump then pump will fry again.
