It's so fast. I use it to help customers switch data over & normally helping Samsung customers is easier than iPhone customers bc to switch data over from an iPhone they have to software update first and then u can do data transfer meanwhile Samsung u don't need to do software update

Nice video.. I wonder if they fixed that issue when you are done with smartswitch, you get a notification that says "Click here to finish setting up your phone". But that is a Google restore notification that if you use smartswitch there is no need to do. I have done it and it seems to do no harm, but it walks you through a Google restore from your Google account, apps, etc, which of course smartswitch already just did. Another thing to note when smartswitch is done, you can see a smartswitch notification on the receiving phone that gives you the status of its setting up the phone, message indexing etc. as you mentioned.

Thanks for making a video on how it should work, been messing with my S7 Edge to Z Flip for the last 3 hours and had to get on with support to send things over using my Google Acct because this Smart Switch was not working. I have to say I've always liked Samsung better than IPhone's but I have one thru work and the way their data is sent over to a new phone using ICloud log in is the easiest thing ever! You can't pick anything separately but it does mirror the phones 100% to each other. I'm still logging into accounts and moving things around to get it like my old phone on the Samsung hours later. The main reason I waited almost 6 years to get a new phone and it is still awful :( Thnx again

My new S22+ currently says it will taking 36 hour & 40 minutes to complete the transfer with Samsung Smart Switch. I am transferring data wirelessly from a S10+. I selected "All Data" . I have 2 devices anmely galaxy note 10 (old) and galaxy s21 ultra (new device). I have a total amount of 195GB( I know it sounds CRAZY!!!!) Wired transfer (original cable that comes with samsung's 25w charger) showed 2 hours and 15 minutes while wireless transfer showed only 1 hour and 15 minutes. Wireless transfer is better option for S-series and note series while wired transfer is prefered for other models like A-series and so.

You do not need two sim cards. You can move the sim card from the old phone to the new phone whenever you'd like. I suggest you do so right before you begin the transfer. But once again, you can do it after the transfer if desired.

As I’ve said over and over.... WISH someone would make a Smart Switch vid, SHOWING the “CONTACTS”. By default, any contacts that are selected, sill download to the actual phone.....from all cloud accounts (google, Microsoft, etc....) MEANING, if don’t uncheck that radial button under contacts inside smart switch, you will have all your cloud accounts contacts Download directly to device, and then when sign into Google, Samsung, etc acct, you will have duplicate contacts. Far as know, this is what happens, and removing those duplicates, sucks! Also wish someone would dive deeper into the “options” for switching to new phone with the smart switch (besides Contacts); like what Apps, services, etc...that should be transferred or WHAT DONT NEED, as soon as sign into “cloud accts” that data will populate to phone. Lastly, every time I’ve used smart switch, I HAVE NEVER seen the screen thats asks to “Transfer and sign into GOOGLE ACCOUNTS”. Not sure why, but after use Smart Switch; I have to add my google, Microsoft, and Samsung accounts after transfer by going to to »settings« »accounts & backup« »manage accounts« »add account« to add/setup my 2 Google, my 3 Outlook, & my 1 Samsung accounts for them to work on my phone. Not sure why the transfer google accounts screen pops up for some ppl, & not for me, but looks like when it does; it’s easier to transfer/setup google accounts than doing it “old” way (looks like saves many steps and time). Dude, did you even try doing the transfer with a new USB-C 3.1 or 3.2 ultra high speed cable, just for comparisons sake? (*not the mockingly cheap USB-C 3 Amp cable Samsung includes with its >$1,000 flagship phones, (which only carries 3 Amps and r5 W supercharging needs a 5A cable...) but worse Samsung's included cable only runs at the obsolete, very slow, USB-A to A 2.0 data transfer speed of 480 Mbps, circa 2000. A new 3.1 gen 1 or 2 or higher USB-C cable would fly at speeds of 10 Gbps (not megabyte) because of added and thicker data wires and other tech in the cable. So that could/would likely shave a huge amount of time. Even the cheapo cable in the box would likely eclipse wifi direct speeds unless Samsung uses a proprietary tech faster than 480 Mbps.
