Washer and dryer set here lasted like two or three years before it started having issues. We had to replace pump once. Then we heard noise coming from dryer, dryer had worn bearings and then finally got them replaced, not even a few months after, we heard noise coming from dryer again, same issues again. It is annoying to say the least.

i replaced the pump over 3 times, it's terrible, after researching it says on the pump "10min ON - 1min OFF" probably to prevent overheating but while drying it almost never turned off and if it did it was only for a few seconds, it's purposely programmed to break, planned obsolescence

So much stuff now made in China with poor quality control. The latest machine I bought a couple of months ago is an Indesit, simple, knobs and buttons, all digital inside of course but simple to operate, doesn't have A for energy or A for spin etc and much cheaper and it will probably last as long or longer. Back in the day no one would have spent the money we do today on white goods and I never will again be sucked into that digital marketing nonsense. The old mechanical timer machines of the past did just as good a job it's really the detergents that do most of the work at the end of the day all a washing machine does is move clothes in a drum of water.....

MIL has been ising her AEG for 13 years. I’ve been using my Miele for 5 years and I’ve got kids so it’s spinning daily, sometimes twice. My mother has been using her Miele for +20 years now and I had to replace a thermostat. My grandparents only bought 2 front loaders in their life. Both from Miele. In other words, front loaders are very decent. You can get some bad luck but that goes for everything you can buy.

The quality of washing machines today has taken a nose dive, they advertise Digital motor and digital inverter as if it's something special because they use the word digital. You just can't beat the old mechanical timer for longevity, it controlled every function in the machine and the motor and it didn't need expensive circuit boards to fail. We've gone through 2 washers in 2 years here in Europe, 1 Bosch, the drum leaked and fried the main board and in the samsung the board fried. So this time I said I'm not paying 500 euros or anything close for a washer ever again because all you're paying for is the fancy screens and look and the marketing nonsense and the energy rating, unfortunately as more and more climate laws start to effect white goods it will only get worse. These circuit boards can be mass produced quickly and much cheaper than the mechanical timers saving a tonne of money because the cost to produce is lower and they can use "digital inverter" as marketing nonsense that most people fall for. It's the same in modern cars with touch screens, all menus for basic functions as manufacturers save a tone on proper switches and cabling. This new indisit I got and waiting to be delivered was the cheapest 9 kg machine I could find around 360 Euro's, it's got 3 knobs, program, spin and temp, very simple, never spending a penny more again but the cost will get higher as more strict environmental regulations come into play. Next stage in washing machine is full colour touch screens which will make you watch adds before you can turn on a wash. Don't fall for the marketing nonsense, just buy the cheapest machine you can get.

Old wahsers have longer longevity but their also noisy and their not water efficient bc of this you will just increase the price of your water bill and bcuz theyre used they will break fast
@o00scorpion00o
@o00scorpion00o Жыл бұрын
@@iloveaviation32 I will take higher water consumption, electricity and more noise for longevity. Pay more for electricity, I can install solar PV, more water ? not a problem, even for those on metered water the savings from buying expensive new machines every few years is wiped out vs an older machine that's much more reliable. I have a Well for water, not exactly free as water has to be pumped but electronics made them cheaper and the manufacturers are able to market this as "digital inverter" digital motor" etc, so they can increase the price while making the washers cheap. They add WiFI etc, all nonsense. Bubble Soak ? lol we don't need any of those things, the mechanical timer took care of everything and usually lasted several years.

@o00scorpion00o your right we had an samsung washer which had mechanical timer it was noisy but lasted for almost 10 years until we had to replace the washer because it won't fit our clothes anymore then we upgraded to an lg dd motor 9kg it's amazingly silent but I hope it will last 10 years like the samsung

Samsung sucks and they don't honor their warranty. The back of the drum is attached to the motor with a brittle type of metal that eventually breaks with the high RPM and rotates out of balance. This piece is suppose to be warrantied for 5 years instead of 3 as part of the motor.

Yep thats the spider arm that mounts to the rear of the drum one of the three legs of it is broken. You can trash that washer if you are not real handy. And still the part may be overpriced. I thought about having my Kenmore welded when it broke after 15 years, but it would probably leave it unbalanced and that dont work at 1100RPM.. .
@shillpolice7981
@shillpolice7981 Жыл бұрын
@DARK KATACLYSM well the particular washer I had was a Kenmore side barrel from 2003 and it had a really nice stainless barrel. The spider gear is on the back of it outside and away from any fluid perhaps one of us is confused or talking about something else. But on any washer I would think there would have to basically be a leak that could go to floor to get that part wet. Its basically the mounting bracket for the washing barrel??? I did later think I should have taken a chance getting it welded. Seems like it looked like pretty raw high iron content metal. But I decided not to try it since the barrel spun up something like 1100RPM and I did not think it would ever get balanced right with a weld on it.. Never know though perhaps it it were ground back down to spec post welding then maybe. I see the vid again so imagine that behind that was tub on the back side of it there is a tri-pronged "spider arm" that mounts in 3 places on the perimeter of the rear of that sideways barrel. There is no way water is getting to it that is a flawed suit if what they say. What happens is the damn washers spin so fast that any inperfection in the balance of the weight distribution of spider arm causes one of the arms to break. Then you have the washed that is spinning out of round.
