Thank You, I had a gut feeling to check KZbin first before placing my order. Which I'm glad I did because I had the TU7000 in my cart at Best Buy still being on Black Friday / Cyber Monday sale luckily. Because my TCL 55" after 2 years has died on me today. It's pathetic because my 2012 college Vizio 42" still works and that's traveled during a decent amount of moving. Anyways, I am sooo glad I watched this review because now I'm getting the TU690 58" for $350 instead of the TU7000 for more money and less quality. Have a Happy New Year, I know I will work a new, reliable, better and slightly larger TV 😄.

Omg same! My 2010/11 Vizio is still running like a champ and looks much better than these newer TVs, oddly enough. Same goes for my 2013 Sony. These newer TVs barely last and they don’t look as good. Make TVs Great Again lol.

BINGO! Today I got the 58inch TU690T at Best Buy on sale for $359 and it seems to under perform, I notice the tv gets a bit slow at times when playing a 4K video. I’m returning it. 😂

@@CyberpunkSamurai this review is spot on. excellent picture quality but average sound. it's in a small room tho so it's more than enough. would be nice if the pedestal legs were more flush with panel itself since the TV does sit high. however for $250 you really can't do much better. it's a basic 4K panel which is what I wanted and the set itself doesn't feel cheap.

I heard that the 690T has a lot less problems than the TU7000. My 2021 Samsung pool TV has a serious software bug where it flickers then automatically turns off after 10 seconds of powering on! I heard that the TU7000 has this same problem. Does anyone else have this problem with either model?

I was considering the TU7000 43 inch. It's a great price at Best Buy in Canada. It has great features if it works well. I've been looking at reviews all day yesterday and all night. Tons of raving reviews but lots of bad ones too. It's very confusing and hard to make a decision. Some had the screen go dead after only 2 years. I don't want a TV that will only last 2 years no matter how great it seems. Plus the apps are reported as glitchy as well as many other issues with sound and dark scenes being so dark the screen is black. Plus it's only 60 htz. Maybe why the apps are so glitchy. Plus there is a lot of bloat ware that you can't remove leaving little space for the apps you do want. I think I'll wait a while before I buy. I have a TV that's not smart but Roku works well on it so far. I was considering the 7000 because I just ordered a new Samsung S20 FE cell phone and it is supposed to work well with this TV for casting and other great features such as tap to pair. I don't mind buying products that are a couple of years old because if they are new the prices are great.

I have 2 of the 7000 series 43 TVs and mine are both great. The only drawback, and it's very small, is that they don't have 5g wireless. You have to use your 2g signal.

Be careful with the TU7000. You read reviews that HDR is unwatchable (way too dark). Although I don't believe every unit suffers from this. I'm just not sure.

I personally bought the TU7000 43 inch tv and comparing them myself I noticed it was alot more brighter and the colors had more pop to them and granted my 7000 is brand new not refurbished and i noticed abit more detail in image quality granted there both great tvs can't go wrong with either though I would lean to spending the little extra money needed to buy a 7000 series but that's my opinion

Why do they have a 58" and 60", but no 65" in this model? This is the first I have heard about a 2022 Samsung model. The problem with some of these TVs, and living in a small town, is if they are not available locally, & something is wrong with the TV, you have to have it shipped, or travel 50+ miles. i have read a lot of reviews about shipping damage with TVs.

I am thinking about getting the Samsung TU690T. My TCL 43S431 43" lasted 1 year and 3 months before the backlight went out on it yesterday. I will probably hold onto the TCL to work on it as a rainy day project. If I can replace the backlight and get it to work again, it can be a temporary backup to the TU690T when it eventually has problems. However, I am not very impressed with TCL overall.

TU690T doesn't have a 65" option becasue that would've been exactly the same as 65" TU7000. At least it's different than 60" TU7000 because tha one is Edge lit, TU690T is Direct lit.

Honestly those tests were going so fast it was hard to tell anything. Hanging on just a few extra seconds would have been helpful, especially with movement on the screen. I do agree that they are basically identical. Maybe it was the screen size, but the 7000 seemed more clear to me in the frozen shots. Did the 690 have a matte finish on the screen?

If a video goes too quickly for me, I just pause it, and then maybe go back a few seconds. Making use of the red "progress bar," or the KZbin "setting" gear icon, is especially useful for repair, how-to, or tutorial videos.

I bought a Black Friday curved TV from BestBuy 12 years ago. It has 120mhz. I know that Samsung has upgraded the software in the newer models with Motion Rate 120. Do you think it's as good as native 120mhz? Asking because I'm looking to buy one of these to replace my 12 year old TV (bedroom tv). The biggest factor for me is blur. I don't want any blur.

Only downside to this comparison is that you aren't comparing the same size, so you'll never get an accurate comparison of backlight or clarity since the pixel density is lower in the 7000 than the 690 above it. I'm looking at a 75" TU690T for $599 for Xmas.

I have the Samsung TU 7000 for my PS5, and everything has been fine for a month, until today. When I turned my PS5 on and the TV, the TV wouldn’t display my PS5 screen and was acting like the PS5 was powered off, even though it wasn’t. I could even see the little PS5 icon when clicking “source” on the remote and it was showing that the console was off, but it was powered on. I had it on the right HDMI, I never change it, so that shouldn’t have been an issue. I had to reset my console in order for it to display on the screen like normally. Does anyone know the reason why this would happen? It’s the first time I’ve seen this. I just bought this TV last month in November, & my PS5 was bought brand new in June 2022. It stressed me out because I don’t want a problem with my TV or PS5. Any response would help a lot, I have no idea why the TV would act like that. I am also using the cables that came with the PS5, so no third party cables that might be faulty. What caused this to happen?

I just bought this TU7000, and when switching inputs on my receiver, the sound doesn't always work. I go into the menu, and sound is on receiver, and it shows it is getting a signal. I have to switch to TV speakers, and then back to receiver, for it to work. My old H6300, from 2014, worked fine through this same receiver.
