Upvoted for the content, but also because of your assistants, who did a great job. I'm going to attempt this repair today.

After seeing you and your kid fixing or taking the tv apart, it encourages me to do it. Thanks in advance bro!

You can do it!

Although it has been a while since you posted this video, supported by the youthful but helpful narration, it has given me the confidence to attempt replacing the LED strips on an otherwise perfect flatscreen discarded at the community dumpster. So far, detaching the back panel is proving to be quite difficult.

Thanks, folks! This was more helpful than you know. I just scored this exact model "broken" TV for $30. I already suspected a bad backlight, since it powers up normally and produces sound, and that's exactly what the problem is. This video will help avoid making any big mistakes when I order the replacement backlight. Cheers!

Yes, thank you, you're definitely right. I've done a few screen replacements before, and haven't screwed anything up yet... but this will be the biggest one yet, and the only one I'm keeping for myself!

The backlight replacement went well! I had to refer back to your video to see if you had to deal with a damaged edge of your fresnel lens. You did, but mine was way worse. I had to dig out burnt bits and sand it smooth. It was partially cracked from the heat, too, so I have a bright spot near the bottom of the TV. No big deal, really. Thanks again!

Can I turn that glass panel behind the screen around? The one with the burn marks? I can't get the burn marks off and I think flipping it around will help refract the light?.

Great informative video! I have the same tv but a 65" un65nu7100, when you plug it in, the "Samsung splash screen" shows, then the screen goes black for 4 or 5 seconds(off), then the screen lights up but black, no sound, no picture, and stays that way until i unplug it. Im not sure, but i feel that the leds are fine given the splash screen is clear and working fine, but im not a expert. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, as i like working on things, and dont really want to buy a new tv.

The screen goes off because maybe some LED is burned, so to protect all the panel the system shutdown all the panel ... But it's produced by a LED damage in the panel .. did you find the solution?

Hello, did you measure the volts on the LED power supply output, that 2 wires going on LED strips? I get 200 VDC from both on output, dunno if that's right, sounds a bit too much to me.
@SOSfixElectronics Жыл бұрын
the led output voltage should be marked on the power board

I have this same model tv.. samsung 55 led.. the tv cuts on and off with a flashing standby light.i hear a start up sound and see a blue screen when this happens.. when I disconnect the main board from the power board the backlight alluminates.. any suggestion what may be the problem?
@SOSfixElectronics3 жыл бұрын
sounds like power board + backlight are good, your problem between mainboard and screen ( no tcon in this model) try to cover some traces on the flex cables thats going to the screen, see if you get some lines or even some picture, i think i faced some of these series with faulty sceen
