As a part time appliance tech with access to Korean service manuals, been to the LG Changwon Appliance Plant, and working on mostly Korean brand appliances; heres my two cents. In Korea, LG is #1 in appliances and Samsung is #1 in electronics (both #2 in electronics and appliances respectively) Laundry: LG. The CEO of LG Appliance Division is known as "Mr. Washing Machine" They heavily invested R&D front loading washers for the American Market since their entry in 2004. LG also makes commercial laundry machines. Customer Service: Neither. In Korea, both companies have amazing phenomenal customer service. Same day factory service. Technicians are very friendly; they bow and apologize. Calls from the US (both companies) are answered in the Philippines. Dishwasher: LG. LG dishwashers are all made in Korea. They have a better design compared to the Samsung Linear Wash. Refrigeration: Both brands have been problematic but both brands have reworked their flaws. Avoid Samsung french door fridges with the ice maker inside the fridge compartment. Avoid LG linear compressor if you can. LG has reverted to building fridges with conventional reciprocating compressors in 2024. Ranges: Both are pretty much the same

I have an LG refrigerator that is 14 year old and I have no issues whatsoever. However, after watching your videos I am going with GE in the future due to service availability.

I was going to buy an LG dishwasher a couple of months ago, but when I went to the store, the Samsung "felt" better. Got the Samsung - no storm wash or whatever it is but it does have a 60 minute cycle which works so well it's now my standard. So far so good. Both are very good brands. I should note that Samsung has water temperature and pressure requirements. 120 F to 149 (IIRC) for temp. I normally have my hot water set at 120, and it works well, but tried it at 125 and it's even better with the baked on test. Thanks for all your excellent reviews. They are VERY helpful.

Yeah I'm curious about this too, there is a class action lawsuit against LG with their compressors installed on Kenmore and LG refrigerators. Seems the linear compressors they use have a lifespan of only 3 years...

Samsung invariably has more features and technology and brings new models fairly quickly: But that becomes a bane as well. With so many new models it difficult to service and manufacture, make available parts. Also being less tested to market makes it a non recommended option from me at least.

Samsung does NOT have more features and technology than LG. Literally all their appliances ideas are copied from LG

LG Washtower washer is extremely quiet. But LG customer service does not compare to Samsung’s. Yes, I have tried both within the past few months.

I would never buy either one of them. My washer is LG and had a huge repair bill within 5 years. My kitchen appliances are mostly Samsung and every one is a piece of junk. Service is abysmal for both.

We owned a Samsung top load washer. After one year it needed a new motherboard. After 3 years it was completely broken (failed drum bearing). I will never purchase a Samsung anything ever again.

Samsung Dishwasher are trash. This is the brand no one wants to buy when I talk about them.
