Wow was I disappointed with lifecycle expectations looking at dishwashers this weekend. My 24 year old GE just died. It was all plastic. Admittedly we only run it three times a week. I figured a new stainless steel one should be good for 10 or 12 years. The sales people at the appliance store said they only expect economy dishwashers to last five years, and the premium ones to last 8 -10 years?!?! I don't need all the wi-fi bells and whistles nor the 55 optional settings. "Pots and pans" or "normal" settings will do just fine, thanks. Am I just paying for a bright shiny computer interface instead of a solid pump motor and good seal around the door? Frustrated for sure. Sigh.

Because they don't fix anything....They outsource service. In other cases, they look at amount of repairs instead of repair percentages. To say LG has more repairs, for example, they also sell way more than most. Ditto with Samsung.
@joeydunkle2 күн бұрын
My eleven year old front load Samsung started leaking and found it was the gasket due to a tear. OEM gasket was right at $100 and figured I would repair instead of replace. Unfortunately 11 years of washing has lead to rusted and seized screws making it just short of impossible to disassemble and reassemble. The dryer is still good and considering this is the only problem I’ve ever had I will probably replace with the same Samsung model and stack the dryer on top like I have currently set up. My only issue is no one seems to have a in stock inventory and you basically order from any store and they are shipped from the same warehouse to your house.

What's the difference between steam cooking and steam assist?
@YaleAppliance116 сағат бұрын
Steam assist adds moisture to the process but you are still cooking with convection heat. With steam you are cooking completely with steam

We have this dryer and it’s fantastic. Clothes come out perfectly dry every time. Her times are way off. It does take longer but not that much. Today a large batch of beach towels took about 90 minutes. Our whirlpool took about 75 minutes.

Interesting that Wolf is not among your most reliable. As a custom home builder, we were offering Thermador as budget option for a couple years due to constrained product issues with Miele & Subzero Wolf. We had at least 3 times the number of callbacks. Fortunately our local supplier handled them all seamlessly but I’ve since terminated offering Thermador as callbacks, even handled well by our sub, is unacceptable when it can be avoided. We rarely if ever have call backs with Miele or Wolf. We literally had a couple of Thermador steam ovens and 1 speed-convection arrive on site doa, w/o visible damage to crate/container. We do not offer Miele fridges, always substituting True or Subzero, based on my dealer recommendations

With regard to the refrigerators, stating that most refrigerators have two evaporators. You are dead wrong. Dual evaporator’s have been, and shall continue to be for sometime the exception. They are always more complex. They always have more electronics driving them are more prone to mechanical failures, and many technicians will shy away from them.
@YaleAppliance14 күн бұрын
Dual evaporators are the standard with all pro and integrated, most GE, Profile, Cafe, Samsung, and LG. Our technicians work on them daily

very helpful as usual. but i am in need of a 42" refrigerator and have really wanted the subzero pro-line, but they don't make a 42" pro-line fridge. i even called the company and they said there is nothing in the works either which was disappointing. the only other in this category is the TRUE 42"side by side. i have concerns about reliability and need for repairs, etc. and i know subzero has had the market for many yrs on the residential end of the market. i am looking to purchase by yrs end and was hoping to hear more about these subjects. i know steve is a big subzero fan from the videos. any thoughts? thank you again.

1 year with the GE so far, 2 units. Lint gathers in the return duct just before the filter and lint also bypasses the filter and begins building up on the condenser fins. Love the convenience especially with 2 units since I can just throw loads in both and have 2 loads done in a couple hours without any loads to be moved but GE really should have thought out maintenance on these. While you CAN get to the condenser and the duct to clean it, it's a real pain in the butt and not something the average homeowner is going to want to do. It needs to be a more modular and accessible design so you can reach the entire duct path to keep it clean, heck they could have built in a spray system to automatically flush the condenser with hot water for max performance over time!

I got the GE one and I love this thing. It's freaking awesome. I did buy some felt strips, and a foam pad in order to really seal the filter up. It works perfectly with the mod. I hate that you need to mod it, but it's a cheap and easy mod to make and this thing cleans my clothes, towels, blankets like never before. It pulls SO much more dog hair out it's crazy. Some people complained about a damp feel to their clothes but I think they haven't read what GE says about it. When I pull the clothes out, they are dry even if they feel damp. As soon as they are exposed to outside air, they lose the damp feel. You do not need to shake them like crazy like I've seen some people do. Just pull them out, sort and fold and it's all good. Just thought I'd post. Love the thing.

Super helpful video. Thank you. Looking forward to the dual fuel. It’s a shame there isn’t a “superior” in the all gas. I agree with that-no range is perfect. For me that would be 25000 BTU max, 100 and 340 BTU simmer, infrared grill, with griddle and French top options, with a self-cleaning oven, with steam, with true convection, with all grill grates dishwasher safe, and oven grates self-cleanable, with enough size to fit a full sheet pan. As far as I know that range doesn’t exist.
