We've had our Samsung Top Load Washer for about 10 years and haven't had any issues with it. But it is due for suspension rods and a deep cleaning of the drum outside. We had this issue originally, and they came out, swapped something claiming recall, and it's been working fine since. We did change water lines, but that wasn't the issue since the pressure in the water lines never actually changed.

I bought this exact washer after my Whirlpool Cabrio died after 13 months of use. At 14 months of use the Samsung started having balance issues on the final spin, and would keep filling back up with water presumably to correct the unbalance. An hour wash often became a 2 hour wash. I saw that this washer was heading down the same path of failure as the Cabrio, so I got rid of it and bought the highly recommended Speed Queen. Best money I ever spent on a washer.

We bought this same model from "The Brick" in Abbotsford. It was delivered on Sept 14/2014 Sunday. We tried after the delivery guys hooked it up and left. It did nothing. The lights came on and it made a bunch of chime sounds and grinding noises like it was grinding up wood. We called the Samsung hot-line and talked to some half wit. She told us a few things to try and then said "Guess it's busted". Couldn't call The Brick cause it was closed ( 6:pm Sunday.) It was delivered at 5:20pm Sunday. This washer is a piece of crap and I would "NEVER" buy Samsung washer or dryer again.

We got this same model well the newer one about two years ago? We don’t have any problems with it sometimes it will go off balance but that’s because my mom is too stupid not to overload it. I told her to get the frontload version because that’s what we had back in South Carolina cause that’s where we are from and when our house burnt we moved to Ohio when our house burnt to one of my aunts rentals. Is it or was it possible that sears (rip sears at least where I’m from and live) didn’t hook it up properly? We had the Kenmore series 100 HE Topload washed it kept having water issues until I realized lowes didn’t hook it up properly. It was a simple fix with my fingers we just had to turn the water hoses on. Or maybe your washing machine hoses didn’t fit your outfits properly?

Do yourself a HUGE FAVOR and get yourself a Speed Queen Top Load Washer. They are worth every penny you pay. All these newer H.E. washers are absolute crap. The problem is the government (Dept of Energy) got involved and... well... need I say more? High Efficiency my ass! My parents washer lasted 30 years! Nowadays the ONLY "real" washer out there is a Speed Queen. Don't buy anything else or you will regret it. I learned the hard way.

It is the government. The EPA really. They have a sort of Midas touch that turns everything to shit. The paint on many newer cars is soft. They made everyone have to buy those horrible CARB gas cans (no spill my ass!!). You can not find the old ones any more. They messed with dish detergent (took out the phosphates) and now because of that we have spots on things that come out of the dishwasher. I wish they would stop messing with things. *Is causing misery the only thing the EPA is good for?*

Yeah how did you learn the hard way. Interesting that according to Consumer Reports Samsung was one that had a top rating. Yeah my parents appliances lasted 15-20 years as well. Not one repair - one store employee informed me that the machines today last 10 years. Have seen the old ones on Craigslist. Maybe there's an old and new used appliance store that sells them as well. Wonder why Speed Queen is so great? When we bought our current one we were told omg they last forever - not a Speed Queen.

Pretty much, yes. Anything the EPA touches is crippled and ruined to the point of virtual uselessness, I have a 1977 GE Filter flo washer that's still going almost 40 years later with its first repairs this year - a new pump and belt. Then I learned the outer tub was starting to rust and parts are scarce, so I bought a new Speed Queen heavy commercial duty top loader and though it cost more its the best machine ive ever had, at least as good as my old GE, probably better. To all those fed up with todays crap HE machines SPEED QUEEN is the only way to go - buy one and done, best warranty in the business.

It recently got worse with a new issue of the "de" error code- (unbalanced)...-We 'rigged' the water level issue from the beginning , but now we are dealing with the unbalanced error b.s....Now I know I am not alone!!! My old washer was a 20 or 30 year old washer. Never had any problems except rarely it will unbalance. Which good thing it doesn't actually move around the floor and hit anything, I shouldve kept it but we got rid of it and used my grandmas washer. Hers works fine unless you unbalance it. Man it gets mad when you unbalance it. But good thing is, it automatically detects when its unbalanced and fixes it for you.

I have the same machine, newer model. Had it about 2 weeks and had to have service out. Now I moved it just a few inches to remove my laundry tub in order to replace the laundry tub. Now washer won't work, have moved it back in it's original position (in case it is that sensitive about being level)...still won't work!! I work in the construction industry and on a weekly basis recommend appliances to customers for their projects. I will tell people to ABSOLUTELY NOT BUY SAMSUNG!!! This is ridiculous! Bought mine in May 2014 and have had problems from day 1 with inability to complete a full wash cycle. Continuously caught in spin cycle, getting UE error. Takes 2-3 hours to complete a load if it completes at all. Several times we just turned power off and wrung the clothes out by hand.

Best bet is to save yourself from the headaches of these new HE machines and buy a Speed Queen commercial top loader, pay more but its worth it. I bought one and its a trouble free heavy duty no bells and whistles commercial machine that's reliable and built to last 20 years. It will last ten times as long as this the new HE junk. My Speed Queen lets (me) choose how much water I use, and it finishes a full load clean in 30 minutes - at least 15-20 min. faster than the new HE machines. It also has great reviews and the best warranty in the business. The new HE's are impressive looking, but all of them are crap. Theyre poorly engineered with flashy looks, play music, do everything but wash clothes, maybe they should play taps.

All appliances washer dryers refrigerators have a service technicians cheat sheet located in side the control panel so you would remove with a screwdriver or nut driver the screws behind the panel and then access the cheat sheets and it'll tell you what the code represents

Water level sensor can be clogged with dirt or objects. Take it loose inside the control panel and blow in it. That should clear it. If not, get service to replace the sensor or the control board

I have one of these.. I think my model is a bit newer though, some of the controls are not the same. Mine has a "Self Clean" mode instead of the "pure" mode. My Washer works well and cleans well. I have had it for over a year. but to me it looks like he has put Regular detergent in the machine. It's over sudsing (if there is a word) "HE" detergent don't suds up like that. Could be cheap detergent or none combatable. the whole purpose of "HE" detergent is that it DON"T suds up. You know they sell millions of these things and it's not going to matter what you buy you stand a chance of getting a defect. Samsung don't make money off of selling defective machines and they don't get a good reputation or rich repairing and replacing their products..The bad thing is people don't come on KZbin and Brag about how well their Washer works we always take the vindictive way out and complain when we think we have been done wrong.

I don't know if the teck /repair man forgot to put back on after the third time repairing it But there is no counter weight on the bottom I bungee corded(ruber) it down to the base and locktited the nut under the agitator now it seems to work fine. they have replaced everything except the outer shell and never got it right the repairman said this the model this the most calls

Ouch. Do not buy a Samsung Washer? My Mother bought one similar earlier this year and it's working fine. The only error I get once in a while is if the load is unbalanced. When it unbalances, it does a few extra rinses. If it still unbalances, it fails the spin cycle and code "UE" appears. It also chimes on that, even if the sound is off when I hold the "Temprature" button for approximately 3 seconds. So why can't buy a Samsung Washer when this one my Mother has works properly.? This kinda bums me out a little. :-/

Certain Samsung models, mostly toploaders I think, have been recalled for exploding violently during the spin cycle and causing property damage and personal injury in a few cases. 34 different models and on the order of 3 million units are involved. I believe its the biggest appliance recall in US history, its been all over the news.

+yambo59 My (My Mother's) Samsung is working properly. No explosions or anything. Also, when the spinning is unbalanced, the motion sensors inside the washer senses it and stops after 5 seconds. It does a few extra rinses. If it still unbalances on spin, it stops and code "UE" appears. Why are all other Samsung Washers having several problems?

Video Lover (I ♥ Videos) Well im a retired mechanic and like minded by nature, so if I had to give an opinion it just plain bad engineering coupled with corporate cost cutting for increased profits, govt. EPA interference with unrealistic regulations, as well as too much reliance on software and electronic circuit boards to do what the machines internal mechanics used to be designed to do on it own for decades with no help from software. Im 57 and don't recall a single time any washer brand literally exploded in the manner were seeing with Samsungs. We all know how glitchy software can go awry in a computer, so if you put it in control of a motor capable of spinning the tub over 1,000 RPM and something goes wrong with the board or its programming the rest is a recipe for disaster. I strongly suggest you get your mothers Samsung model number get on line and see if its on the recall list, because if its one of the affected models no telling when it could malfunction or how violent it could be. Look on YT at some of the videos showing how these machines blow apart, its really scary-! People have been hurt and a small child could be killed from the flying shrapnel these things have shot clear through nearby walls.

IE Error code is a pressure switch problem, it is either a bad pressure switch altogether or the tube that connects to it is off, or the other end of the tube is off the tub.

I have the exact same one. Mines will go through a complete cycle but once it's in the spin cycle before finishing, it kicks back to the the very beginning of the cycle as if you were just starting it. Samsung has very poor customer service. I was on hold for almost an hour and when I called back and as if I were a store salesman, I immediately got a person on the other end. One time I called it sounded like the guy was in another country and he was home watching TV or something. I hate any and everything Samsung, they don't stand behind their products and my machine isn't over four years old!!! I hope someone from Samsung is reading this.

+Sori Reyes that means ur washer catch "air" in the system! Simple way to fix this is to have the washer do a complete "Spin cycle" ONLY... no clothes or water inside while u do this. The spin will eliminate any air that was cought in the system lines. once it's finish the cycle, turn it off completely and disconnect the power plug for a couple of minutes as the motor cools off. plug it back in and everything should be back to normal.

We bought the SAMSUNG model WA456DRHDWR (similar to this one) in 2013 and it went bad in 3 years. Started to actually rust at the body where you put in the soap and ruined clothes. Then all the cycles got screwed up and will run over and over 2 or 3 times for like 90 minutes total. Uses water like crazy. Do not buy a SAMSUNG washer please. The SPIN only cycle does a rinse and spin. Idiotic. You cant even use half the cycles becasue they simply wont work as designed. And it does go off balance all the time no matter how you adjust the level. My wife is furious. Paid $731 for this thing.

Can anyone tell me how freely air should flow through the water level sensor tube at the tub? If I create a vacuum on the tube at the sensor it will fill the drum, if I create pressure it drains, but if I try to do either at the drum the air barely moves back into the drum as if there is blockage. The switch has to be sensitive and not require much pressure difference. The clamps are not that robust.

I have problem with my Samsung washer it doesn’t fill up even I set it heavy wash water is not enough, I have to fill up using jet water, once I’m trying to wipe clean the top glass when I accidentally touch the knob pushing it just a little bit, I heard a drain sound and all water laundry soap water wasted! So I have to start from very beginning again waste of time. Samsung probably need to stick with making television but not washing machine. I like the old american washer where I can able to Edit the cycle anytime I want without draining the water.

Bought a Samsung top load washer about 2 years ago it's a piece of crap can't even buy the part to fix it, plastic drive teeth broke off the dir drive a lot of money for the time I got to use it. I will never buy another one

it's the wa422prhdwr/aa bought ours Oct.2012.the drain pump falls out and apparently the technician said they cannot replace the parts or no longer available.got a full refund $599 and bought front loader Wf365btbgwr/a2 is this even a good one?

I don't know maybe ... try CALLING SEARS OR SAMSUNG. If it is new they will send someone to fix it for FREE it is in the Warranty. it would have taken less time to call then make the video and upload it.

heffyfatman123 I did call this vid was almost two years ago and Sears was great they did a return exchange and i bought a LG WASHER it's great NO ISSUES . i'm not bashing Samsung i own a lot there products i kept the dryer no problems this washer had a lot of negative reviews with the same issue . thanks

We have made the mistake of purchasing this washer as well. Washer is only 6 months old and has broken down twice. Getting the run around from Lowe's and samsung. Do not buy samsung.

This 1E error is when there is not enough water pressure to fill the washing machine. So better this dumb guy to verify minimum water supply pressure specified before blaming the product and maker. That's the problem when stupid users don't read the user manual before operating home appliances.

+crandellman Mine (My Mother's) is working properly. Even the motion sensors for when the load is unbalanced. No problem here.

crandellman there was a small % that had an issue. for every one that had a issue there were 10's of thousands that didn't. even then, most of the ones that had the issue was just the door coming loose.

We have the Samsung Washer model WA5471 and it gets caught up saying error code DC which means unbalanced load some times we just moved the clothes around and it goes threw with the spin and some days it just never goes threw have to end up leaving them in the dryer for what seems like all day long to get them to dry. Please anyone reading this don't buy any Samsung Washers, even tho the dryer works good I want buy anymore of there crappie products again. Just a big piece of nice High tech looking JUNK.

U have to replave all 4.shocks very easy repair .. u can rest the u unit by pressing (spin and soil.level + power botton) untill all lights flash give it a min then turn the nob till the word spin appears on the display then press start ... a dc erroressage indicates (very out of balance )

MasterK I don't know your name but I tried what you told me on the spin only method by holding the buttons down until it flashed and man it worked! !!! Me and my wife are Stoked!!!! You Dont Know Are Understand That You You Saved Us From Going Out And Buying A New Wash Machine!!!! Thanks a awful lot man!!!! I told my wife you must be a engineer are something, because what you told me was not even in the hand book we got with the wash machine! I'm beyond stoked! And the wash machine is level and our floor is level I used a level measure to make sure it was and it is spot on. For some reason the washing machine doesn't like jeans that much.
