Samsung Washing Machine Water Leak

Samsung top loading washer leak fix. I recorded this out of pure frustration with Samsung. It's a ridiculously simple fix but they wouldn't help me. Instead, they wanted to send a service man out. I hope this video makes its way to someone who needs it. Good luck.

My Samsung washer went out of extended warranty in may. Started leaking last night, watched your video while drinking coffee. Chase, man, you have no idea. This vid showed me my EXACT problem. The washer initially gave me a "4E" code, so I cleaned the screens on the water inlets, but then was overfilling and leaking. Once I pulled the back off it, sure enough, disconnected hose. Reconnected, she's back running like a champ. Man, I cannot thank you enough for posting this vid. ~Jeff

My man! Son washed a giant towel in my samsung washer and threw the drum off balanced so it stopped then it started leaking under the washer. Wife called Samsung and was put on hold. I checked your video, told my wife to hang up, looked inside the panel, lo and behold. That was the issue! Man I'd venmo you a few bucks for the advice if I could. Thanks a bunch.

Best first video ever brother. I can't believe that bung isn't barbed in some way to help hold the hose on. I also rerouted that pressure switch hose slightly to ensure that an unbalanced load wouldn't pull it off again.

Btw, I unwrap that clear tube from suspension rod, I believe the suspension rod gradually pull the tube off, it’s better to type the clear tube on the big plastic drum, I also added additional 0.5” hose clamp (

Damn spent almost 2 afternoons trying to figure out 4e error code. All sites said to clean out water hose mesh filter, check there's no kinks on water hose and god knows what else. I then noticed that water had been leaking below washer the whole time so I checked real quick here on youtube just in case it had something do with 4e error code, saw your video and bam! everything is fixed now. Can't believe it, thank you sooooooooo much!!

I literally just had this happen to me and I noticed the little tube was disconnected. I was thinking water was coming from the tube until I saw the waterline above the little “bung”- I call it a nipple-and realized that it must’ve been pouring out of there the minute it hit that level. Not one person mentioned that that was a possibility. Thank you!

THANK YOU!!! This worked for me perfectly. So easy and instantly fixed the problem of the 4E code. For a week straight my washer has been filling for a minute, then stops, displays code 4E. I thought it was a problem with the hose connections. Fixed that and no change. Then started noticing the water on the floor. After last hose fix the water on the floor issue got MUCH worse. Found this video - took off back and sure enough, little hose is completely disconnected. Hooked back up, closed back and fully up and running again. THANK YOU THANK YOU.

Wow... I was seriously doubting that it could be that easy... but after overfilling my unit, I had the same problem.. Samsungs troubleshooting didn't help at all.. This worked out perfectly for my son and I were able to fix it in under five minutes. The only tools needed were a Phillips screwdriver and a pair of pliers for squeezing the clamp. We saved about $50 on a service call. God bless!

Check the hot and cold hoses that go into the washer too, the little screens that filter the water might be clogged, turn water off, disconnect hoses put the little filter out clean them put them back in and put your hoses back on, then turn water back on! Looks like this was a different issues tho, glad to know you found what else can happen, don't forget to check the drainage hose under too to make sure that one is clamped on right only takes a screw driver to clamp the hose back on. :) oh Tip don't use glue to connect it just go to the store and get the same size clamp for it, or you'll just cause more issues down the road.

If for some reason your clear tube IS connected, check the bottom right hand corner once the back panel is open to make sure that the black hose is connected, that's where my problem was.

That was our problem. The hose also tells the devise that the washer has enough water. When my hose came off the water would not stop flowing. We had a repair man come out since it was under warranty. Took him 5 minutes and a hour drive back to hi office. Good job.

I think the hose comes off because the clamp is too weak and the hose goes OUTSIDE the suspension strut, pulling on the hose. I rerouted that hose inside the strut and secured it with a zip tie, instead of those stupid wire twisties..
