As a Hrothgar player, I always look forward to what feels like occasional table scraps of acknowledgment that Square Enix sends our way from time to time. Like did you see the Dawntrail teaser? We saw Hrothgar back at one point! Square is spoiling us with that! Maybe if we're lucky, a Hrothgar might even be a quest giver or two when Dawntrail comes out.

First major encounter with a Hrothgar was when I was having my mom help me transfer something between characters on a server a rarely frequented and this random Hrothgar RP walked up to my cat boy, initiates a trade, gave me a flower and RP walked away without a word. The other major encounter that sticks in my head is when I got an all Hrothgar party in Matoya’s relict, again playing as my cat boy and it felt like I had been some orphan they had rescued and was finally old enough to join them (I come up with random RP stories as I game, especially dungeon crawls, less so with new games but for games where I can create my character I always subconsciously come up with a story for who I am creating). That last one may have also been because I got a ShB dungeon in the level 50/60/70/80 roulette after EW and those are always a rare treat for me. Also that song is awesome, and this video almost makes me want to roll a Hrothgar.

Love my Hrothgar, though I had to use mods. I hated having toenails, seriously, they are animals, they need claws. I also added digitigrade feet, a slightly buffer build and being able to stand up straight. oh, and I also adding a lupin head and made him look like death from puss n boots for my reaper :P

Hrothgars are my like, 3rd favorite race because of the flair they add to the world. They aren’t just human with one slider all the way up or some animal like ears. Standard new player hrothgar experience: Goes to Limsa first time and get offered 1M gil for ERP From total amount of players hroths makes around 1%......if we count endgame players only 2%. I think the population will grow when the female counterpart is available. But so far the announcement of delay for femhroths and headgear solution made many players use fanta to other races. So only 3 types of hroths player left

despite its limitations, hrothgar has some of the best animations and customizations IMO and it was fun making my alt as one. If we go by precedents, EU fanfest could have the first femhroth tease, at least in the trailer. I really hope they use Roe and not Miqo as base models T_T

Gods I can see so many issues with female Brovguar design.. Like imagine a male Herofgar but with like a completely flat face. Like a Rguagedyn female with weird -legs- feet. I sincerely hope that femhroth will take on femroe as the base and just Big Moms, and not another petite cat girl. (Which I only say because there's already Miqo'te.) Not having access to the majority of headgear is a bit of a sore point for most Hrothgar players, to be honest. While, yeah, I agree that while Hrothgar have a unique head profile that you kind of want to have show, I think some headgear could accentuate that, but you don't even have the option to choose aside from eye coverings or stick-on-forehead gear. (Old, pre-ShB gear needing to be updated is a given, but heck even ShB gear where Hroth were introduced dont have any headgear usable by Hrothgar, and even new headgear is still unusable. It's just not considered.) The hope is that it'll be properly addressed with the introduction of femhroth. 😓
