Damn Eto is honest, this was VERY intersting to watch, especially as the same issues he endured with Pep, was almost identical to what his replacement Ibra endured as well. Alot of Pep's past players don't have positive things to say about him, especially after hearing what some Bayern players had to say about him(Robben, Lewandowski, Ribery, Neuer) But the reality here is, Eto really got the last laugh, had Eto left that summer, Barcelona DO NOT win that treble and a LARGE part of Pep's legacy is non-existant. Not to mention, Eto then went on to win ANOTHER treble the season after with Inter Milan knocking out Barcelona in the process.

Cockoff Gewgle lol pep know only about tiki taka and if there is a player who don't want or can't play this style of football he sell him. A Great coach can take any group of players with their unique strengths and weaknesses and lead them to glory. Sorry, but Pep thinks football is a video game..you can't buy or sell players like that. He can only play with players with low-medium high, to have great balance, great technique with the ball, passing abilities and vision. Every coach needs great players to their team, but it doesn't matter to them their style of play, if they got an attacking or defensive fullback, if they got a striker who can't dribble, but can win battles in the air to score headers. They will make the team great as it is.

Guardiola explains it on his book. Eto is a player. Doesn't matter what position he plays or the coach has played in the past. With that criteria, the coach could only coach the players that play in his former position. Guardiola decided to protect the team instead of having a few spoiled kids... Eto, Roni, were two of them... History says Pep was right and Barcelona went on to become one of the greatest teams people have ever seen in those years... winning 18 out of 21 titles in play or something around that... Eto does not have football ethic and this video is proof of it. He has no problem in sharing personal matters and that's a big no-no in soccer and among soccer players. That's the reason he was sold to another team. Sometimes, having an awesome player that brings conflict in a team is not the right thing for the team and this video proves it well... Eto is a great forward, Ibra is also a great forward, but there weren't the best forwards for Barcelona at that particular time, that's all.... Alexis Sanches is also a great player, but he was simply not the best fit. There are many examples like this. Being a coach is not about having the best players, is about having the right players.

Africans should stop this victim mentality. Pep joined Barca, took out Ronaldinho, Deco, Zambrotta and the likes, he wasn't racist then. As soon as he took out Eto'o and Yaya, he became racist. The same way he had problems with Eto'o, he also had with Zlatan, but because Zlatan isn't black or African, Pep wasn't racist then. Pep joined Bayern, had issues with the likes of Gotze, Mandzukic, he wasn't racist then. Pep Joined City, infact his first casualty at City was Joe Hart. Y'all say Pep hated Yaya, but Yaya played 2 seasons under Pep at City. Joe Hart didn't even play a single competitive game under Pep at City. Pep sold off Joe Hart, Nasri, and the likes, he wasn't racist then. As soon as he sold off Wilfred Bony and Iheanacho, he became a racist. Pep didn't work well with Nolito, Ferran Torres, Jesus Navas, his fellow Spaniards, Pep sold them all. He wasn't racist. Pep had issues with Aguero, if Aguero was African, Pep would have been a racist again. Pep had issues with Cancelo, if Cancelo was Black/African, Pep would have been a racist again. Alex Ferguson in his 26-year reign at Man Utd didn't have up to 10 African players in his teams, infact, aside Quinton Fortune, Djemba Djemba and Manucho, I can't remember any other African that played for Man Utd under Ferguson, but no one calls him a racist. We all saw the circumstances that led to Mane's departure from Liverpool, if it was Pep as manager, Pep would have been a racist again. But it's not Pep, so it's normal. Tuchel sold off T.Abraham, preferring T.Werner, if it were Pep, he would have been a racist, since it's not Pep, it's normal. You know what gladdens me about this whole thing is that in the end, Pep is the most successful manager in world football today. His decisions still paid dividends. He's achieved it all. Y'all can hate him all you want, it still won't take a hair off him, still won't reduce his achievements. I am African, and I refuse to have this stu-pid victim mentality. Peace ✌️.

I lived in Côte d'Ivoire for 18 months and I was surprised to see that Eto'o was more popular there than Drogba despite being a Cameroonian. Anyway, I loved Eto'o as our no 9 for so many years who guaranteed goals and his grit and determination is exemplary. He is also a very honest man who says things how they are. But Eto'o must have understood one thing that Guardiola himself was very young too when he took over the 1st team. At 38 Guardiola didn't have to be a matured man but Eto'o surr as hell was younger than Pep too. A coach has to be respected despite his/her age, Julian Nagelsman took over a Bundesliga 1st team when he was 29, I'm sure he was respectful to the senior players who were elder than him but they never disrespected Nagelsman. Pep is a La Masia graduate who was a ball boy at Camp Nou, a captain for so long too, he was respected by all players in the club; Pep may not have been very comfortable talking to everyone being so young. Eto'o should have known it. Eto'o journey in other clubs didn't go as great- despite winning tteble at Inter he didn't score many goals and literally played at right back position in Mou's tactical scheme. His unprofessionalism was well documented in Chelsea and Everton. He played for money in later years in lower quality national leagues because his agent almost ruined his life by misappropriating his money and properties. However he fought legally and won. I still wish him all the best. He now openly claims that Pep is the best coach in the world; I'm sure Pep said sorry later on.

He was not co-operating so he sold him. Same with Eto. Yaya never had problems with Pep like that , Both Zlatan n Eto have Ego n the whole world knws abt this. Would u want a player who doesn't listen to u ? I won't

What show is this? It was a great watch, and rare as an American TV watcher to see someone given such a long time to tell a story without being interrupted or cutting to commercial break. Also does he speak about his time in Inter with Mourinho during this too?

He gives good insight as to who the problematic one actually was. He was asked only about Pep, but all of a sudden you get to learn he also had issues with Rijkaard, was pissed off so much by Ronaldinho that he couldn't do without saying it, and Henry being happy to get number 9 also stayed with him all those years. He also says they got together and made peace, but you can see he isn't at peace whatsoever. He really is a problematic personality. He can't even help giving himself away.

Guardiola is really like that, i saw once the Bayern Training where Thiago made a Trick and done a great Assist for the Goal and Guardiola stops the Training and yelling No No No don't do this do this and that. This Man telling the Media that the Player is injuried to hide He's angry emotion about him letting him not play so the Fans aren't angry at him. P.s sorry for my bad Englisch 😅
@joycealanis4 жыл бұрын
Hum..I dont know... players cannot just do tricks and go about doing whatever they want in the game. Even if they play well, that can be toxic to the whole group, because if a trainer tolerates one player not following direction, soon, the whole team will start doing the same. I dont think it was a question of Eto not playing well, but more of what influence he could have on the team

@@medman195 Pep Guardiola already disrespected Eto'o. Eto'o was just returning the favor. Guardiola is a good tactician but bad person. Look at how he treated players he didn't like. @andrasszabo15707 жыл бұрын
But the thing is, he made them that squad. Think back. He sold Ronaldinho, Deco, Edmilson, Thuram and Zambrotta, bought Alves, Keita, Hleb, Cáceres and Piqué, promoted Pedro and Busquets. He should have been worse off; after all, all five of the players he sold were consistent starters, Deco was world class, Ronaldinho was sui generis. Only Alves was a definite upgrade compared to whom he replaced at that time. But, his team collected 20 more points, won every single thing they competed for, etc. In every single competition, Barca has been worse before and after him. How do you figure he was just lucky?
@Mr.v7 жыл бұрын
do you really think that a team with messi, eto'o, xavi, iniesta and alves could win 6 trophies if their manager was mourinho or ancelotti or ferguson? no. guardiola is a football genius. BUT, in order to manifest his football ideas on the pitch, he needs the right players for that. and manchester city has only 1 world class player, and that's de bruyne. in bayern, guardiola had successful seasons, despite what everyone says. you can't win 6 trophies every year. he couldn't repeat the same thing with the same players like xavi messi iniesta. it's like a computer. you have the best graphic card in the world. but if your processor and RAM memory sucks, the graphic card will never perform as it should. guardiola and that group of players were the perfect combination which will hardly be repeated, ever.
