Eto'o is a legend and one of my favorite players to watch, but he was very known for having one of the biggest egos in the world of football. All the players and managers who played with him confirmed this. Remember when he said: "When Ronaldinho arrived at Barca, we didn't win anything. When I arrived, we won it all". And when Chelsea signed him, everybody was afraid there would be a clash of egos in the locker room, and they ended up being right. Great player, but also huge ego.

nonesense, Eto’o was such a drama queen; even before Pep took over he had a fragile ego. He was playing with unbelievably talented midfielders but kept thinking of himself falsely as the centre of the Barcelona offensive strategy. If you watch full games and not just highlights, from the Rijkaard era, you can see how Eto’o is constantly lamenting his missed chances or complaining he is not getting passes, meanwhile his team is creating chances and even scoring. It’s fine, a striker has to be selfish and goal oriented, after all that’s why you hire a striker, to take initiative and shoot, but the problem with Eto’o is that in his actions he never appreciated how much talent was around him and never accepted that really he is not central to the team strategy. This became especially true under Guardiola’s heavy passing offence. Guardiola’s goal scoring did not rely solely on the striker and Eto’o did not adapt. Statistically, Barcelona started scoring and winning more when Eto’o left, it’s illogical to say they would’ve won more Champions Leagues had he stayed.

Spot on 👌 imo Pep ruined the modern game with his tippy tappa football over complicating the game sure Barca were great but everyone else apart from a few copied this style of play but just cant do it i loved watching games that were non stop end to end attacking with loads of wide play and crosses now its played out from the back which infuriates me and teams are more concerned with keeping clean sheets and not loosing than scoring goals which is the object of the game now all i see is players diving with the slightest contact if they loose possession like Neves did on Sunday with Pogba, sideways and backwards passing for the most just to keep possession its boring AF possession doesn't win games goals do its a relatively simple game just try to score more goals that the other team and dont get me started on VAR 😠😠😠 we are now watching Soccer and the wimps (for the most imo) that are so far removed from the average man/woman then theres the money ffs its disgusting and clearly corruption is rife i am loosing my love for the game as it stands i am totally priced out of going to watch my team unless i won tickets and travel or got a freebie, i used to go to Ibrox all the time and even went down to Old Trafford on many occasions but now a trip to either is way out of my budget 😠

@@craigleith100 rly your saying it’s his fault for good tactics the money and the parts of the community made football less enjoyable (especially the Indian and UK community) it’s true many managers now have similar tactics and defensive football is a low point in the modern era but how is it pep’s fault he was asked to win trophies and you need good tactics to win trophies so he came up with the best style of play for his barcalona team

Many people say Guardiola is a great coach and maybe he is. However swapping Eto‘o for Ibrahimovic was a move which showed many flaws in his coaching ability. First he replaced a person who he thought was causing too much trouble with someone he couldn‘t handle. A year later Ibrahimovic left for a fraction what Barca paid. Then they filled the spot with Villa who did cost more than what they received for Ibra. No wonder that Barca is almost bankrupt.
@JGamer10112 жыл бұрын
With all the wins and trophies we got with Pep, we could cost all that transfer problems. Then nor you or me know what happen inside the team that caused Pep to sell Eto'o. And finally, the problem of the bankrupt has only two names, Sandro Rosell and Josep Bartomeu, with all the other names mainly from the media that came with them, and caused Guardiola and Laporta to get out of the club
@ThePirat20112 жыл бұрын
@@JGamer1011 Ok, so you are telling me that a president at Barca can act like a dictator? I really like Barca but for years this club has been managed in a disastrous manner. The problem is the ‚trophies at any cost‘-mentality.

@@ThePirat2011 only look at Rosell and Bartomeu's work to see what I mean, probably not a dictator, but two parasites at least. And with the final idea I totally agree with you, since Luis Enrique left, he had that mentality instead of the one that made us great, trying to play possesion and attacking football with passion and trying to win every game they played.

@Riccardo Bartolommei sbagli eto e pandev erano vere ali d attaco
@thomassacrato86623 жыл бұрын
@thomassacrato86623 жыл бұрын
