Pleading guilty would have never saved him either when one pleads guilty it goes straight to what penal code says and you're convicted as per the penal code pleading not guilty gives police and prosecution a difficult task of gathering evidence and place you at the murder scene and our police being good at bungling cases at least he could had half a chance either way his consious is clear and before God he's been forgiven
