Geralt was purposefully written in the games, books, shows, etc to try to be this “emotionless monster killing machine who is objective and doesn’t choose sides”. But we see Geralt is almost none of these. He loves, he cares for people, he hates too. He adopts ciri, despite the burden she would become. He treats her as well as any uneducated sword-dad could. He chooses sides almost every single time the opportunity is presented. As much as he tries to abide by his code, he finds he can’t, largely by his choice alone
