This took me >2 hours but I did eventually do it. Here are my tips: 1. Use dual stick controls for the ability to spring jump w/ X 2. Don't worry about spring boosting off both bombs you lay on the ground, just spring jump in time with the 2nd one. Trying to boost off both was perhaps my biggest mistake. Too hard. 3. Balancing on the rock is not a big deal once you learn to tap up/left instead of holding and to be slightly on the right side of the rock for the duration. 4. Begin holding forward just before the 3rd bomb detonates and wait a moment before you unmorph. 5. After you manage to get on the ledge, it's really easy. Just follow the video, slightly hold right and don't hold forward, like, at all Hope this helps for everyone else who is struggling with this!

You can skip the first bomb if you want by just jumping and placing a bomb at the same time (the jump takes the place of the first bomb), but I don’t recommend it. It compresses the button presses into a shorter timeframe and makes you confused and panic more easily. Reducing your time on the rock is enticing, but if you are not yet practiced enough to stay on the rock until the first explosion, then you won’t be able to balance yourself after landing on it again either, so saving that time is redundant. 2. Once you land on the ledge, HANDS OFF THE LEFT STICK! Catch a breather and compose yourself, the next part requires parience and you will not slide off standing still. 3. Once you are ready to take the final jump, orient yourself based on the video. If your orientation is off, you will fall so be meticulous.

Back in the original game I managed to do get the upgrade by jumping off Samus’ ship, it took a lot of tries but I was persistent and somehow did it. It was likely a perfect jump off the last tiny bit of the ship you could walk on, and back then I thought that was the way you were supposed to do it

Been getting lots of comments about not being able to stay on the rock. It was my mistake to not talk about it in the video, I will make sure in my future tutorials I won't leave out these type of details. But let me explain: You cannot just stay on the rock with Morph Ball, you'll roll off from it without holding a direction. You have to balance on the rock by tapping left/upleft angle, don't hold because you don't want to move off. It's difficult to balance on it, you need to practice and be patient when you're laying down bombs for attempts.

So basically Early Space Jump is the new Biohazard Containment Time Save. I'm sticking with the Gamecube version, I'm MAD Nintendo. I liked the sequence break options and how creative you could get with the routes. It made the skill ceiling so high. At least when they remaster Prime 2 it'll be more familiar. That game was more broken but in a less satisfying way to break. Also the difficulty was perfect. I'd bet that they end up nerfing the boost and spider guardian though because the average player now is more likely to complain lol

Ugghhh after so damn long i finally did it i mean ive seen these tutorials before but i kept falling off the damn ledge once i finally successfully done the BSJ over the course of several hours of trying i finally started getting the balance on the rock right and several attemps did the BSJ but either missed or did it successfully NOW heres the part that absolutely stumped me for the longest till i paid much closer attention Okay so you made it on top i thought you were SUPPOSED to hold up once on the ledge but i didn't realize it would force you down the correct method is to LET GO of the damn movement stick once i made it THEN slowly move to the right side but slowly that tiny part made me fail several successful attempts and i didn't know why it kept happening now i completely understand how it works Balance on rock -> place a double bomb jump set up so Bomb A --- Bomb B ---- Bomb A detonates place Bomb C in air LAND then Springball during bomb B detonation and then Bomb C detonates and unmorph -> reach ledge and LET GO of up and stand in place on that ledge you wont fall off if you dont press anything if you landed correctly -> adjust camara thing to look kinda forward or just focus on how you did it -> tilt the control stick ever so slightly to the top right and then Jump once you reached the wall Hope any of this information helps anyone attempting to do the ESJ and failing multiple times like i did

Can confirm, you do not need to shake it for the spring ball. I just did it without motion controls, just pushing x works fine.

To anyone who is still attempting this with spring ball: you don't need to use the spring jump at all. Just do the normal double bomb jump and it will get u to the ledge just the same. I unfortunately learned about this after I had given up learning how to time the spring jump on my second bomb and got space jump normally, but attempted this later and for sure makes it more easy to attempt.

@@Videl_Gaming @Galeocerdo123 the other method takes you two rooms away from this one and you having to manipulate transforming out of ball form and bomb jumps so you can basically "triple jump" on to the ledge that you normally wouldn't be able to get to unless you had boost ball. It's actually much harder then this method which is why I "feel" like it's easier, but no this one is the "easier" version, but you're not having to balance on a rock to do it. If you want to see it in action, just search up "Early Space Boots" and both methods should show up here.

Actually Space Jump First does exist on the Wii version, albeit TAS only (It is speculated that it can be achieved in real time with pause buffering, but extremely difficult)

This video help me to achieve getting the space jump early in the game, it took me like 2hrs specially since I have to balance myself in the rock 🪨 I will say practice the timing with the bombs 💣 first in a flat surface then balance yourself in the rock only! After dominating both then try to jump forward to the ledge. I know probably if I play the game normally will get the space jump but the fact that I pull that off make me feel so powerful 💪🏼😅

Doubt the power bombs, and I know the plasma beam is a no-go for sure, because later versions of Metroid Prime literally lock the door into the Plasma Beam room until you get the Grapple Beam.

@@sticky8008 so apparently you can just choose the way you want to do it. you can use no spring jump, or use one or two. With my like 6 hours into it, i found that just mastering the double spring jump is better. because what matters most with that, is timing. while with the others, timing is important on both where you jump from the rock, when you hold foward, and placement of the 2nd bomb in the air. so springball while harder, has less that can go wrong; so i stuck with that method lol. but choose whatever works for you

So you still can't get it RIGHT after you land, you gotta go get morph ball and bombs first. LAME. Scandashing made prime so malleable and you could get creative with the routes. Still a legendary game but I'd argue that stuff like the Main Quarry door and other changes to PAL and later revisions only made for a worse experience ultimately. What is the minimum item% in this? Has anyone attempted 24% or less?

You don't need boost ball, the idea of Early Space Jump is to get it before you even go to Phendrana Drifts. You do have springball once you get bombs, just shake the controller if you have gyro on OR if you are using dual stick you can press the X button.

Seems like an impossible mission to stop players from getting the space jump without litterally locking the door for when the player gets boost ball. Though... WHY? Out of order items is the litteral building blocks of the metroid games. removed in fusion... Maybe it is cause Prime was made in the same vein? It is why they want to block such? Prime 2 has a very scary break in it if you try skiping the first meet with DS and going to it anytime afterwards ending up with a twisted NG+
