I love watching build content more than trail content, but both are cool.

Wow, I got away from KZbin and missed all your progress videos. This little beast is becoming a big beast.

Hey it works! I think it would be cool if you could somehow disguise it as/with the bumper but understanding that its temporary probably doesnt make it worth it.
@FortuneOffRoadАй бұрын
Yeah, hopefully, it's less than a year in place. I thought the same thing!

I want to recommend 4 link full hydro steering push wheelbase out you will like it better in the end.
@tschwag1420Ай бұрын
It does look good can't wait to see it wheel though
@FortuneOffRoadАй бұрын
Thanks! We're gonna get there. This is just a means to that end, so I can wheel it until I have the parts.

Looks like a saber tooth samurai now lol is there any advantages in running leafs instead of coils if you're capable of building a 4 link?
@FortuneOffRoadАй бұрын
The only advantages to leaf springs are simplicity and cost. A linked setup would be more a better option for performance.

looks like a beast cant wait to see it on the trails. Just wondering why not longer shakles? I've always heard you want a 5-6 inch shakle to get every last bit of flex from your leafs.
@FortuneOffRoadАй бұрын
Shackle swing should match the arch in the springs. I dont think I'll need it for compression, but I can always use longer ones later
@whywedrinkАй бұрын
Don’t remember if you said in the other videos but are you going to offset the new rear?
@FortuneOffRoadАй бұрын
I'm not sure if I mentioned that yet. My plan is to run the rear centered. I think i have enough length on the deiveshaft that the angle shouldn't be a problem. I dont see the samurai case holding up, so if I swap it out, I'll most likely have a centered output on the tcase
@whywedrinkАй бұрын
@@FortuneOffRoad I’d like to see the centered transfer case. I’m doing Toyota axles right now and running into that same problem.
@FortuneOffRoadАй бұрын
@whywedrink ive seen many Samurais run stock transfer case and rear toyota axles without issue. Hopefully it works out for you!
@benjaminreinhardt259Ай бұрын
A 60 under a Sammy?! That axle must weigh what the Sammy came from the factory weighing.
@FortuneOffRoadАй бұрын
It's pretty dabg heavy. Especially with the 40s. This thing is going to feel planted!
@bradlininger6393Ай бұрын
Shackle reverse would have been better it's ugly I'm sure it will work though
@FortuneOffRoadАй бұрын
The rear of the spring is really long. It would've been a lot hanging out the back and low. Also, it gets the pinion angle really low when articulating. Just wasn't for me in this build. Might do it on the next one
@johnsmith-oh2xoАй бұрын
It's no longer a suzuki samurai it's a frankin build no fun why not just get a Toyota landcruiser or a jeep I can't see chopping up a samurai for that....

Why worry about what other people do with their toys? If you want to keep your stock everything stuff, have fun, just not as much as us…
@JamesMcNamara-j1gАй бұрын
The entire point of pages like this is to see what other people are doing to see if you can learn a cool idea that works for your build. Not saying I would do this to my rig, but, it’s not my rig.
