Just a quick FYI a Jeep YJ fuel pump doesn't come on when you turn the key forward like most electric fuel pumps that signal isn't sent to the pump until the crankshaft position sensor notices movement so cycling the key in one does nothing, if you don't believe me hook a fuel pressure gauge up to your rail and you'll see it doesn't do anything
@FortuneOffRoadКүн бұрын
Thanks for the info. What am I hearing kick on?
@Yelladog78Күн бұрын
@FortuneOffRoad I'm not sure, probably the asd getting power or some other relay. If your Jeep ever won't start and your fuel pump isn't getting power just remember it won't unless you crank it. If it doesn't pump fuel when you crank it over it's likely your crankshaft position sensor not sending signal to the computer unless your relay is bad . I learned this the hard way by replacing a fuel pump because I couldn't get fuel from it by turning the key forward , the relay was good so I replaced the pump which is a pain in the butt as you know by pulling the tank then found out it was a crankshaft position sensor. NGK is the original equipment manufacturer for our Jeeps for most sensors you probably already know this but I would highly recommend you replace parts with NGK parts they are certainly worth the price difference. Love the channel by the way

I drive 90 miles a day for work and been debating to buy this exact type of geo metro. After doing the math as well it’s a no brainer. I drive a v6 truck that gets around 20 mpg. So assuming the geo metro gets around 45 mpg I’d save 200$ a month from gas and 2400 dollars a year. Much appreciated for the video and help opening my eyes.
@FortuneOffRoad2 күн бұрын
I love driving the metro. With the mods I've made and mindful driving, I'm hovering around 50mpg!

Pros and cons for shackle reversal. Shackle forward has better braking characteristics, better climbing, better clearance, and better driveline angles. Another thing to consider is i can now use a longer spring without moving the spring hangers.

Great Video!!! How do you think my JT would do on 35?
@FortuneOffRoad21 күн бұрын
As long as you don't go alone, I think you'll have a great time. Just experiment with the tire pressure. Keep going down until the tire starts to fold or burp air. Unless you have beadlocks, then go to town! The part before the trail is all flat and low risk. Just crawl, get stuck, then unstuck, and have fun!

I have these on my truck for the last two years driven about 18k miles and they barely worn I can still see the lines on there middle threads and the little holes on the outside threads. I’m very impressed how well they have lasted and how little they have worn In 18k miles. I would have expected at least 25% worn but not even that. Just make sure they are well balanced and a good alignment and no cupping will occur and won’t get louder. They are not even that loud it’s a very soft hum. I’ve definitely have heard way louder tires
