With a small bumper clearance cut and removal of the caps and tapping the pinch weld in the inner fender down for tire safety you can fit 29'' tires on stock suspension just fine. Even without the sway bar.
@RoyceGetit4 жыл бұрын
Nice! I just found out from the forums that it’s not good to go bigger then 29 inches unless you adjust the gearing. I was bummed at first bc I want bigger tires but seeing how yours came out makes me excited again 💯🤙🏼

I have a samurai I'm wanting to lift. I put a 1.6 8v from a tracker in it. Had to buy the adaptor plate for the 1.3 tranny to the 1.6 block, but did you have to get drive shaft spacers or anything or was it just the springs that you installed. And I'm wandering because my oil pan is hitting my front axle and they said that I need al least a 3" lift. Will those springs help me so the oil pan doesn't hit anymore. Thank you
@dr.dansgarage4 жыл бұрын
I didn’t need any driveshaft alterations. It was just the stuff in the kit. If you need 3” lift then this probably won’t do it. It is only 2” lift.

Thanks for the comment. I think 31" would be pretty tight. I think it'd rub at full turn. However, with the addition of a 1" or 2" body lift I think it would work with those tires assuming the wheel offset is suitable.
@jakefinlay53124 жыл бұрын
For 31" you need at least a 2 " body lift and you'll still get tyre scrub in the front wheel arches and Honestly even with 29" you should still look into a 2" body lift, it makes a world of difference

Kala Hunter no argument here that gearing affects performance. However, with this modest increase in tire size this particular samurai actually drives better. There’s no appreciable difference in acceleration and cruising on the freeway is actually better. Yes the samurai needs more power but it was that way before too. I would expect any tire bigger than this would be detrimental without the appropriate gear change. Thanks for the comment.
