It's just early stuff. CEO had a galford/hanzo that was messing people up. There are other characters besides Tam Tam and Genjuro who are pretty strong. Just gotta give it time.

I said it the second day I played this...Genjuro, TamTam and Yoshi. Just by playing a little bit with each character you can tell almost immediately had the more traditional advantages

SFtheWolf it’s mechanics aren’t dry. It’s a thinking game that requires knowledge of pokes, footsies, and which punish is optimal. Just because it doesn’t have 20 hit combos doesn’t make it dry. It’s different.

It's Christmas for me, I was there over 20 years ago when it dropped in the arcades and here we are, same old (which is good) in a splendid new suit. Can't wait to see if it really can hit the high shelves besides all other games at tournaments around the world. Evo is a VERY good start.

It's definitely a much different fighting game, and always has been. It's fantastic to watch because it's easy for someone not familiar with the game to understand what is going on. Actually playing it is something that more tactical players tend to appreciate. It's not that reflex speed and reaction time aren't necessary, but the windows for inputs are larger and basics such as footwork, spacing and reading your opponent are more important. Given how popular Dragonball Fighter Z has been, seeing more tactical games like MK11 and SamSho is a real palate cleanser.

I mean samsho (at least the ones I play : v special ) is Really fun, the fact that people could kill you really quickly ( sometimes in a matter of seconds )combines with the mechanics (parries (which not like a traditional sf3 parries), Dodge, perfect block, sword catch etc) makes the game really tense, which is what makes it really fun. Every hit pretty much counts and you need to be really careful and not waste turns/moves otherwise you're gonna pay for it. I mean it's definitely not like other fighting games like sf,mk,etc if anything I might describe it kinda like if dark souls is a fighting game because 1 hit can take so much and every hit really counts (along with parries, dodging,etc) but that is what makes it fun. If you're interested but hesitant u could buy samsho v special at steam and PS store for like 5$ , to test the gameplay out and see for yourself

Samurai Shodown was never at any point a fighting game about combos. The most inputs you're going to see involve 3 inputs at most or a rekka with Genjuro. If you've ever looked across this series in the past then you'd know that this game is entirely based on footies and extremely impactful single hits.
