I think the most interesting thing about Samurai Unicorn was how it was intended to be an animated series before it became a game Apart of me wished it stuck with that direction cause the idea of a PS1 looking animated series is something I haven't seen before, but the game itself is very cool too

This game's got such a cool charm to it, I like it a lot! I know that not many people will care, but I love the the way the game transitions to cutscenes, it's so seamless!

It reminds me of the PS1 game series Fear Effect. The in-game engine was used for all cutscenes, and when done... the window zoomed out a bit and pow! you're back in the game! If you were not paying attention you would wait for the player control to start again... but it already did. Neat effect for immersion.

Honestly one of the main issues this game has (for me atleast) are the enemies. They just feel too easy to deal with because with one shot to the leg they become a none issue. Sure there are some enemies that take more ammo to have their limbs cut off but they are spaced pretty far between all of the common humanoid ones. I feel like a good way to fix this is by having one of their limbs chopped off they can prioritize using their other full pair of limbs as a primary damage dealer. For example if one of their legs is blown off and they fall to the ground they can use their arms to perform consistent lunging attacks that dont deal a lot of damage OR if their arms get blown off they can use their legs for more acrobatic dodging and even do dive kick attacks that deal more damage (with the added bonus of temporary stunning the player) but the trade off is that their recovery from a missed attack is slower which gives the player enough time to deal with them. Also maybe they can have regenerative limbs so that there is a higher stake when taking them down and potentially using the cyborg stand to attack a limb can cause permanent stopping of the regeneration so there is the trade off of using a charge to give you more of an advantage in combat. However this could cause potential hit detection issues and if later on the enemies appear in frequent quantities the limb regeneration can become really annoying. Still though I really like this game and I hope the development goes well.

What amazing game. Enemies and door interactions might need a small tweak to stop them from clipping through. Wad the only part that took me out of the full immersion of it. Can't wait for the finished product!

Giving a shotgun that early and enough ammo that it essentially becomes your first main weapon is a ballsy move. Wonder what the timeframe will be in the maingame

Nothing ballsy, coming from one of it's inspirations: Dead Space. The entire game can be won with nothing but the Plasma Cutter. I see it as your bread and butter. Pistol is for that pulsating exploding bait, as well as "I fucked up, ran out of ammo for the shotgun" option. While the Assault Rifle is for cutting off legs of a group at a distance, then finishing the crowd off with your stand after everyone no longer has legs (you can backstab/stomp/parry>Visceral) with your stand, saving you amo if you are good enough (parry/visceral/stomp/backstab doesn't cause energy, only normal attacks do, encouraging you to "git gud") Which made me wonder why ABG did not demonstrate the full melee combat but the devs do. Since this will be what separates it from Resident Evil/Dead Space. The melee combat.

The lack of viable melee options is one of the things that made Dead Space so harrowing. If you're out of ammo, you don't stand a chance. But this lady has a samurai friend to protect her. Do you even need guns at that point? And why didn't our protag call her partner even after finding tons of things that are incriminating, or warn him about the monsters?

Hi! The samurai uses energy when you use him to attack (it's up in the top left corner of the screen), which needs to be refilled by either parrying or using consumables. So you can't just use him all the time to attack.
