The Samyang 24mm f2.8 lens struggled with autofocus in video mode on newer Sony camera bodies BUT when you use the lens station to update the firmware to beta v.8, the autofocus will work fine.
Overall, performance for video in low light is good (chef's kiss, I may add). Performance at the widest aperture is soft. Very soft.
CORRECTION: The last image I show at 5:01 was actually shot at f2.8 and that's why it looks soft. NOT f7.1 as I said in the video. So.... it's not a bad lens when shot at narrower apertures. Just not great at f2.8 - which is kind of sucky if you are hoping to use it at f2.8 and you're expecting sharpness.
Everything is filmed with the Sony a7C II and Samyang 24mm f2.8 lens EXCEPT the outdoor talking head clips at the start of the video (which was filmed with Canon R6 + 24-105mm f4L).
I purchased this lens from the official Samyang US website and had to pay taxes and duties when receiving it in Canada. If this lens is not in stock there, check Amazon.
