I'm from uttarakhand..glad to see this video...i know little bit about the bhairava deity there ..pujaris of bhairavnath are from a village in ukhimath area...i think they are Pandey's...bhairava is thier ishta deva....when after 6 months the kedar shrine is opened they invoke bhairavnatha & bhairav baba comes on the body of pujaris or people of that village ..i don't know how to say this properly....but deity enters the body of people & say things ...these are absolutely overwhelming scenes that everyone should encounter in thier lives.... I'm from uttarakhand so it is casual for me 😀.... after 2013 floods when kedar was opened next year ..after invoking bhairavanath (the chetrapala) bhairava baba warned the priests & people there " अगर सुधरे नही तो वही घटना दोहरा दूंगा जो पिछले साल हुआ" ...this may sound nonsense but it is true i saw the clip myself which people made....many locals say that 2013 floods was a punishment for people from kedarnath because the sacred place was becoming a tourist spot...people were crossing limits...one chapati was sold at 40-50 rs...one water bottle was sold for 100 rs..like this so many things were happening...but after 17th june 2013 it was utter silence in kedarnath. Even now kedarnath tourism is exceeding rapidly since last two years, from 2022 to be precise. 2023-2024 it was at its peak. There is no road even in the Trek to wait during your walk, like it was an unimaginable crowd, plus the helicopter ride crowds. I feel so bad for the horses. It's horrible to see how a 100+ size person is riding a horse and the horse just cannot move at all because it's a climb in a mountain not a plain road. The owners of the horses treat them so horrible that in the way, your heart aches thinking about the pain the animals go through that too in a place where Kedar baba is worshipped. It's my opinion that if you cannot move, you have a certain health condition, a certain age ( even kids included), i think they should not go to kedar until and unless they are fit to take care of themselves and are able to climb in the name of Shiva. Coming to the business which goes inside, there is certainly no room under 500-1000. 1500 is rarely possible, it mostly starts with 3000 if bargain they go to 2500-2000 (if you're being lucky). The bottle cost 100 for a price of 20. Well i understand that when you go in the mountains, there are no good roads for the easy transportation process, so many places in the range of Himalayas the water cost is 50-60-70-80-90-100. Which is understood? The water is very heavy to bring from the downside of the plain area up into the mountain. That being said - i am sure the horses are dragged to do all kinds of transportation from the plains to the mountains. My second most disappointing part after the torture of the horses is that now kedarnath is just not a tourist sport, its a dance stage, its a theater stage, its an open area where people are doing anything whatever they want ( proposal area? Seriously 😒 that place where Pandavas were searching for shiva, you found that holy place to dance, do your acting). It's a shame that people do the trek, go to see baba, do the darshan, and everybody claims of - how beautiful is the view, they feel lucky to climb all the way up and get baba's darshan, they do all kinds of photos and video shots, but nobody takes the true essence of what kedarnath holds, neither they actually thank bhairav or the large stone for protecting kedarnath, they never experience the silence in those mountains and the vibration which anything springs the sound of om and the whole structural range is like a garden of flowers and we forgot to be the bee in order to enjoy the true taste of ecstasy ( i am noting - flowers are those rishis, munis, yogis, yoginis, swamis, santh, creatures who did they sadhana and deep Tapasya since the Mahabharata area and are still there, and we the bees because they know how to enjoy the sweetness of flowers as well as help the flowers for pollination and growth).

This is a very common practice in Uttarakhand where a deity manifest itself through a person. Almost everyone had a person in their family through which kuladevata/ kuladevi would manifest. but we people usually won't share such things because these things will sound unreal to others as it is not something in their experience and they will call it superstitional practice

Yupp its called jagar , the first time I saw it I was scared but got amazed how the deity manifested and infact told about every problem which our family was suffering from , also the deity told about the minute secrets and told the ways to solve our problems. I was amazed to see that the person within whom the deity manifested carried coal in his hand the whole time and was walking with eyes closed , truly was an amazing but devotional experience.

Last year was the first time I visited my village , I live in Haryana but frequently visit Roorkee my grandparents home, man Uttarakhand is really a heavenly place, government should spend in tourism sector like Kerala government, it will also help to solve migration problem in Uttarakhand, also majority remains underpaid in Uttarakhand, there are many problems but hope Dhami government will solve it, the expressways and highways recently built have been helpful as it reduces many hours but let's hope to see more work by government

In my village at a hilltop there is a Gorakhnath temple, earlier the hike was difficult but now there is road and than you have to walk for like 1/2 hour not a very difficult hike. It's a very old temple high up in the mountains. We are lucky that not many people from outside come to this temple and it's kind of secluded place. I really love going there, sit there and meditate. 🙏

Nice documentary, little correction, post floods pilgrims came back in huge flocks to Kedarnath Ji not because of some movie, but because of the excellent infrastructure built up there and regular visits of the PM. This boosted the confidence among the followers/non- followers of Kedarnath Ji. Most pilgrims visiting post floods were new pilgrims. For regulars, floods don’t matter
