Elvis Presley concert tickets on sale at the San Diego Sports Arena. The lines began the night before. The tickets for the April 24th concert cost $12.50 and some said scalpers turned around and sold them for $50. A bargain, right? TV 8’s Roberto Salinas interviewed excited fans in the parking lot.
Includes 1956 and 1970 file of Elvis concerts in San Diego.

0:27 - Mom of Kilpatrick's family said all I would like to say! So sweet! She was almost the one person the interviewer didn't look offensive with. According to later reports, the show had at least 13.000 tickets sold.

The 70's were a time of liberation and everyone was experimenting with drugs and talking feely about sex and it wasn't a taboo anymore... I believe that's when porn in public places was really popular and that reporter had a porn mustache... Respect for women went out the door during that time. But women were fighting for their rights and we still are and there are some creeps like that still around nowadays so times have not really changed much 🙄

Creepy reporter.... Would of loved to see more ELVIS footage & certainly less creepy questions from creepy reporter, who, IMO, was trying really really hard to be the flunkie fill in understudy to these young ladies fantasizing about Elvis. “Never ceases to amaze me, baby!” TCB⚡️TLC⚡️

If they knew how lucky they were to see Elvis last tour before dying a year later. 1976 was the Nation’s Bicentennial and I remember Red, White, and Blue everywhere. Like the 4th of July all year long. Guess San Diego wasn’t into the fad like the rest of the country. 🇺🇸

It looks like the reporter’s fan footage was from the parking lot. I don’t understand why you’re belittling San Diego because you didn’t see something in a short footage clip. In case you missed it, the footage was about ELVIS, dear. I really really doubt that San Diego didn’t celebrate the bicentennial year. But I actually think you have some hidden agenda behind your bizarre comment. “Never ceases to amaze me, baby!” TCB⚡️TLC⚡️
