Sometime next year we should be getting our new rear loaders also. The city takes priority on automated but next year they'll finally show us some love

Swol BrohamLincoln I'll be there to record some when that happens

Are these going to be the new engines you guys buy forever?
@trashmonster267 жыл бұрын
Blaze Ginsberg no way. They'll always change it up.

Nice video! I noticed that the LED shining on the arm turns on and off when the arm is in use and not in use. Thought that was an odd feature. Nice to see CNG in ESD's Fleet.

Hello Trashmonster26 Which other of these Amreps collect recycling apart from 332 and 340?
@trashmonster267 жыл бұрын
i have no idea

These units look a lot like the ones L.A Sanitation has been ordering for the past year with the exception of the rooftop CNG tanks and the tag axle. Nice shot of that hopper action! Will San Diego County keep their older ones as spares or will they be junked?

+Stuart Alvarez the old petes will be around for a little while. I saw many of them the day I filmed this. They'll be gone soon enough, though. Likely to be sold to another company somewhere else on the west coast, as the trucks are still in pretty good condition when ESD retires them.

Wouldn't it be so cool if EDCOs ZRs could sound like these?

What was the blue truke for?
@trashmonster268 жыл бұрын
+Kaan “Kaan5072” 5072 That's a private company. Residents in this area can choose between paying a small property tax for City-provided garbage or pay Republic Services to pick up for them. Only in the alleys, though. Main streets are all mandatory city pickup. It's quite a silly and bureaucratic system.

Great work I really like these Pete amreps do you think there is a chance of esd buying n3 amreps ??
@trashmonster268 жыл бұрын
+Western Oregon Garbage Trucks I am happy to say that it is extremely unlikely that will ever happen.
@trashman30627 жыл бұрын
they demoed one on 297 and they did not like it so they changed to the Candy Cane arm. the N3 i a bit slow at the top as well.
@blazeginsberg72788 жыл бұрын
Why did they buy these engines? I think the ones that 2013 ACX Have are fine.
@trashmonster268 жыл бұрын
+Blaze Ginsberg I wouldn't know exactly. I do know that most garbage pickup organizations (City departments and private companies) listen to feedback from their employees about what works best on route. I also know that the City is switching from Diesel to Compressed Natural Gas for reasons involving carbon emissions, and that CNG engines always sound higher pitched and more annoying than diesel ones.
@blazeginsberg72788 жыл бұрын
Some of republic services CNG's don;t sound like this

Blaze Ginsberg that's weird

trashmonster26 Why?
@trashmonster267 жыл бұрын
most of us prefer the sound of a diesel engine
@blazeginsberg72787 жыл бұрын
trashmonster26 Too be fair. I think the scorpions r the most annoying of all of them. I can't stand 323 and 324

Sad to see all the routes go automated, soon all the drivers will be fat and out of shape...
@trashmonster268 жыл бұрын
+Dr. Beary As far as trash and recycle go (this is not true of green waste), every City of San Diego route that could be automated, has been automated. The ones that are still done by rear loaders now, will always be done by rear loaders. Also these two drivers were pretty skinny :P
@TrashBulldogProductions8 жыл бұрын
It's not a matter of being lazy, it's a matter of safety and exposure to hazards for the operator. It also makes routes quicker and efficient. Also the city can provide bins so the residents don't have to purchase their own.
@trashmonster268 жыл бұрын
Stuart Alvarez You'd think they would replace broken carts for you, but the City of San Diego charges residents 75 dollars for replacement carts and 25 dollars for delivery (the latter can be avoided by picking up the cart in your car at their yard). Every other point is very true though.
@michaelhorgan95255 жыл бұрын
@@trashmonster26 We had to replace ours due to the axle breaking off. It did let us upgrade our 65 gallon recycling bin to a 95 gallon bin.
@trashmonster265 жыл бұрын
Michael Horgan I try to stick with the smaller bins. They’ll break less easily in the future.
