I love the part about Balboa Park and the Committee of 100. Pat deMarce is still greatly missed….she passed in 2005 at age 80.

The Whaley House was cool. Went there on a 5th grade field trip. How come they didn't mention the 'Blue Baby', one of the Whaley's children that died there? That was one of the stories we were told on the field trip. Also, back then, there was a story that if you could spend an entire night in the 'haunted Whaley House' you could win like a thousand dollars? LedHed Pb 207.20 🎶 🎸 🎹

This hotel was painted black in the 70$ by a local street gang that took over the beach
