Today, we're at Santee Station, the terminal for the San Diego SDMTS Green Line Trolley in El Cajon for a full ride to Downtown San Diego's 12th and Imperial Station. The Siemens S70 train offers a great Railfan Window view, so enjoy the trip!

One thing I do like about many LRTs in the west coast is how they construct their light rail. San Diego’s train stations are placed by strip malls, malls, apartments, university’s and few desolate stations. Seattles lrt goes through many dense areas too, LA does too & Portland does too.

That's always good to see! We struggle with that in Dallas. There's a lot of stations that are in areas yet to receive urban development. But they will eventually, which I suppose would help.

@@NTxRE The Dallas public want all these but they rarely ride the train. They want a subway but a single heavy rail Carrys +100k passengers a day. DART all four lines carry almost equivalent to that. Also, want new trains although it’s very hard purchase as DART loses more money than earns.

I think the 3000’s are just fine, I really like the forward facing seats in the front. I think MTS might be fixing the 3000’s by now, maybe they will be back in service by the time mts starts running test trains on the mid coast extension at the latest.

Would you say that this is anything like the UTA trax? although I think that train system is more comparable to the BART, but this one is comparable to the UTA system, because of the sound that the engine makes when it starts moving, and when it stops

@@NTxRE well I already know yellow means “approach” bring prepared to stop at the next signal, and I think flashing red means restricting, proceeding past the signal at restricted speed, so ima call that “approach restricting” not sure what the indication is tho.

I'm not sure about how it works in San Diego, but in Dallas, our light rail has restrooms for the operators at the stations. They also swap out often enough that I imagine they don't have to worry too much about it.

I would say then that at the reversal of each route, you're given enough time to use the restroom. I highly doubt they would be expected to do anything like that.
