Great job Shawn. Awesome and informative segment. One thing I am not ever hearing though with discussing the increase in Great White activity in San Diego is three things: 1. Is there a correlation between the explosion in population of the Seal & Sea Lions colonies in La Jolla and the increase in Great Whites? Because it seems way to convenient timing on both. 2. With Sea World constantly rescuing sea lions along the coast and especially in San Diego, are they not interfering with natural selection. A few years back they reported to have rescued over 1000 sea lions. Now that is 1000 sea lions that should have died off. So aren't they artificially inflating the colony numbers? If the purpose of the Marine Sanctuaries is to not interfere with nature. Isn't that exactly what Sea World and the sea lion environmentalists are doing? 3. If the Great White population continues to grow in San Diego, won't that change the migratory patterns of the sharks? If the food source continues to balloon here in San Diego, won't the Great Whites decide to start staying here instead of going out to Hawaii or down to Guadalupe Islands as they grow bigger. And if we start seeing bigger Great Whites 10 - 13 footers sticking around, won't that put the surfers, swimmers, and ocean bathers in more risk. Will San Diego begin to turn into areas like Australia and South Africa with Great White attacks?
