I like your channel. First time here. I've lived in San Francisco since 1964 and I could never imagine living anywhere else. May I offer a few additions. I live near City College and I walk ten thousand steps or more every day. I am a fanatic in that Dept. I also like Lake Merced. The Fort Miley area. Ft. Funston also. I could offer many more places but I'm sure you will get to them eventually. Thanks for a great webpage

Walking is no joke one of my favorite activities and in my opinion the best way to explore the city! This video checks because I too have many friends who are into extreme sports or endurance running, biking, surfing on ocean beach etc all of then and myself are obsessed with living here and we can't imagine a better place to live

I agree! There’s no better way to see the city than out on foot!

I love how you speak from experience (of the city) and especially how unabashedly honest you are.

Interesting and informative video. I have lived in the Duboce Triangle for 40 years. It is surprising that you mentioned areas that I have quick access to via MUNI and/or walking.

Duboce Triangle is a great neighborhood. I own property there and love it. I have mentioned it in other videos. I can't cover every neighborhood in every video though, though i agree it's a great one that is very walkable and has great access to transit!

I lived 26 years in the Mission after 2 other neighborhoods. Now Hayes Valley. The MISSION far outweighs any Others! There are hills off Valencia and there is Dolores Park part Dolores Hts, Castro. Though MISSION Dolores is 2 blocks Up from the Park. Absolutely the large Mission is outstanding.

Thanks for sharing your experience! It's great to hear from people who live in the neighborhood. The mission offers a ton. In addion to what you mentioned it also has great weather and great restaurants!

Mind boggling to see places like Pac Heights listed before The Mission, which is the most walkable and self-contained area of the city.

Lived in SF from 94-07 (Pot Hill, Alamo, Castro, Hayes Valley, Mission Dolores). Played a lot of pick-up basketball and ran all over. So many great places to run, my fav being south on ocean beach all the way to the drain pipe where you have to turn around bc of the cliffs (make sure you run at low tide!).

Love running on Ocean Beach! I remember on time that there were sand dollars everywhere- that was super cool! Only saw it that one time!
@gonzoteacher4 ай бұрын
@@livinginsanfranciscoca you just reminded me of that! Only saw it a couple times. That beach has good conditions for it, apparently. What a trip, running through sand dollars for a couple hundred yards! I wonder if the pier ruin is still there down where they hang glide. also, the horses that come upon you out of the fog suddenly. Majestic place!

I always wanted to move to San Francisco, but first of all, I am a foreigner and hardly any employer offers sponsorships, and second, I am a teacher... So when it comes to salary, it is also complicated. I will not switch professions though, because I love being a teacher.

The world needs more good teachers! Thanks for all you do to help educate the youth! It’s one of the most important jobs there is!

@@livinginsanfranciscoca Thank you for your kind words. Unfortunately it’s hard to make a living in a city like San Francisco.

I'm amazed you gave my Nob Hill neighborhood zero mention. I've walked up and down California St to Chinatown and Financial District a million times and the workout is great. Oh but wait, you have a fear of hills. I can't consider you to be a San Franciscan unless you overcome your hill-phobia.
@livinginsanfranciscoca4 ай бұрын
Lol! I LOVE hills!! I walk an hour up hill every day and love it. That's how I chose to keep in shape both mentally and physically. BUT most of the clients that i work with want to live in a neighborhood where they can walk to the commercial strip with out walking up hills, so that is what I was addressing in this particular video. Nob Hill is a great neighborhood. Love it.

You only get to enjoy these top neighbors if you are a multi millionaire. It would be better if you do a video on best neighborhoods where normal hard working people can afford to live, which I know is not possible. I know this because I have been living here for 20 years.
@alexchow96294 ай бұрын
Multi millionaire? Her list includes Glen Park and even Visitacion Valley and Excelsior. Those are not millionaire neighborhoods. There is a bedroom single family home listed for $650k in Visitacion Valley right now. That is far below the median home price in California.

We've covered many of the more affordable neighborhoods in other videos. We can't hit all 89 neighborhoods in each video. Thanks for watching.
