Hello friends. Here I show you how to make blades for your knives using the San Mai technique and how to join stainless steel with carbon steel using a hammer and charcoal forge.
The first technique is the best known, to carry it out use 420 J2 stainless steel and 1070 carbon steel. It consists of sanding and cleaning the pieces well and placing the three joints, leaving the carbon steel one in the middle to join them with electric welding, ensuring that there are no spaces with oxygen inside and that there are no spaces on the edges that we weld where oxygen can enter, this is very important to take into account since success with this technique depends on it.
The second one, I saw it on the channel of the great master @AlexandreBigunas, following the steps he did in his video, use 5160 carbon steel and E 308L-16 stainless steel electrodes. This technique was much easier for me since the contribution made by the stainless steel electrode saves us from the hot welding process, which is much more complex.
Here is the link to the video of Mr. Bigunas from which I learned this technique.

I hope you enjoy the process and please support the channel by subscribing and liking.
Thank you very much in advance for watching the video.
A virtual hello to all

Hola betto, muchísimas gracias. Lo que utilizo es cloruro ferrico diluido en agua destilada. Proporción 1 parte de cloruro por 6 partes de agua . Para neutralizar el ácido utilizo bicarbonato de sodio
