Why has nobody else reviewed this watch??! I bought one a few weeks ago..hasn't been off my wrist since...it's.absolutely stunning...subtle and classy dial the exceptional finishing..the handset, indexes, lume, bezel, strap...everything is excellent. Great review...you did so well to capture the dial.

Hey, Steve. Referred back to your review here before deciding to purchase this watch with the Kanegawa wave in the 2023 End of Summer sale last month. After sale price and coupons, it was $109 on the bracelet. Could not pass it up, especially since this 6105-8000 case is my favorite version of the Seiko “Turtle” cases. This watch is excellent! But I have to say that the bezel is the standout feature. Absolutely perfect in terms of tension, feel, sound, and alignment. The only other watch I own with an equally perfect bezel is actually another San Martin, the two-tone black/gold Sub homage. I don’t know what San Martin did with these 2 watches, but they are excellent. Thanks for this review from a few years back. Helped with my decision (not that I need that much help deciding to buy a watch 😅). Take care, man.

Looks great, I especially like the slim size, brushed finish and of course the dark MOP so you still get good legibility even though its pretty fancy.

Yup, I debated that one as well with the gray color way. It has been reviewed before and seems a good option as well.

The Rdunae Retangula 6105-8000 have a complete different case (41 mm diameter and 19 mm lug with and shorter Lug to Lug distance) so it is much smaller and wears much better on smaller wrist than this SM.

Thanks for this good review. That MOP dial plate, is unique and looks distinctive. But I can’t understand why the dial is not lined up exactly. But overall it is a nice watch. But is it better than a Phoibos diver watch ?..... What is your opinion ?

I have yet to handle a phoibos, but I can't imagine it being much better than this. This watch is just excellent....and aside from the ever so slight misalignment, it's as close to perfect as I have seen

This watch has been traded. Only because I had some redundancy in the collection and I was never happy with my strap options. Also felt it never worked with my outfits. It's a beautiful watch, and the build is still what I consider as close to perfect as I have seen (hands down the best bezel action I have experienced). If you want a pretty dial, and aren't too fussed about fashion and matching and whatnot, it's a great watch

After seeing it for more than $200 for a long time, I was really excited to see it for $152 a few weeks ago, and so snapped it up (and got the Great Wave off Kanagawa version too, for the same price). I bought this watch during the last sale for 110.50, with the steel bracelet. It was kind of hidden. They had the Japanese art version of this watch featured on sale and when I clicked on the option this watch showed up as an option. I didn’t hesitate. I’m half expecting the order to be canceled but it has supposedly shipped, so fingers crossed. Once again thanks for the review. @@EscapeWheel I received it today. It’s a strange watch…it really surprised me with just how elegant it is. Elegance and Capt Willard are not really synonymous. The dial is unbelievable. I took my dog for a walk after dinner and ran into my neighbor and the first thing he said was, “whoa…what the hell is that.” It’s a very unique watch and going to really enjoy wearing it. I think I understand why this watch has that elegant vibe. The case shape is not the same as the San Martin capt willard which is 44mm compared to 42 and the Willard has softer lines particularly around the crown. This watch looks more like their a Doxa homage than anything. But I think it’s one off…I don’t see a case shape that matches the shape anywhere in their catalog.
