Hi Gary, bought the SN004 V1, my first SM, from the Spanish warehouse for ca. 56€ off including VAT. Ordered on Saturday got it on Monday in Madrid. Lovely watch but I confirm the bracelet is a crime to size (had to reclute my son for need of more hands!). Regards

You mentioned the Spanish warehouse for European customers. I always wondered why Aliexpress haven't set up a warehouse or warehouses in the US. I imagine it's a big market for them and it would be nice to get your purchase in under a week, rather then the month-long wait from China to the US. I don't know if Aliexpress people follow your content, comments, etc., but I hope they take note.

Very good review Gary I'm loving this it has almost everything I needed to have but I'm on the fence about SM and there Matte -black dials. They need 2 change it to a glossy or enamel, dam even 🎹 So imma pass if they come out with a version 3 with any of those features for a dial I mention above I will pull the trigger asap

Nice watch, but I can never understand why you would go to the trouble of producing a good looking watch with the wrong lug to lug size. It is clearly a 5512/5513 homage which would also not have a ceramic bezel. I will keep looking. Good review Gary.

I wish the lug to lug was just a tad shorter by about 2mm (46.7 if I'm being super specific), but otherwise this is a great option for those looking for a previous gen sub without the 8k price tag.

Hmm.. is it just me or is there a slight discrepancy between the white of the indices and of the hands? Indices look slightly yellow to me while the hands look more purely white. Other than that: All it needs for me would be a date + cyclops and a deep black dial. Already asked SM if I could get the latter by ordering a custom dial, but apparently, that's not how that works. Petty, really, because I really like the case and overall old school look on this one. I'm not too much into Sub homages that stick closely to the original, but this one would be very tempting with the two changes I mentioned.

Lovely watch but the blue AR really kills it for me. I can’t understand why SM is going with blue AR, particularly when they’re jacking up their prices to the moon. I also think SM need to have a glidelock clasp on these divers. I know they used to have them on their SN019s but they were janky. Hopefully they can figure out those problems.

Thx for the review. Had this one and unfortunately resold it : sat too flat on my wrist, despite the limited diameter it looked too big (long lugs ?). Also I would have prefered a glossy dial vs the actual mat one. Curiously mine had a 90 clicks bezel action.

I ordered a blue one and the bezel is TRASH. Maybe just a QC issue, but it has fore and back play, it catches on a few clicks like there's a burr on a few of the teeth, and overall it has too little resistance. Plus, it has 90 clicks which just makes 0 sense. Very disappointing.

It is Orient in-house movement not Seiko's although Seiko ovens Orient but Orient made it.

I honestly hated it for a long time and for a long time it kept me from buying a San Martin. Eventually, I bit the bullet and bought their 36mm explorer homage and I have no regrets. The fact that the dial is beautifully applied (and consistent throughout dial, crown, clasp) make the odd/awkward hexagon design no problem at all, and I even got used to it!

Still I don't understand the sense of this watch. Quality is great but it is still weird to wear a "look a like" watch. San Martin haves a good quality level, why the doesn't search a great designer to produce unique watches?

Not going to buy any San Martin till they move their ass and invent or even copy an on fly adjustment clasp. I don't know if it is only me , but a clasp with this Dull look clasp is dead watch.
