got my 39mm with the white dial on the 3-link "Bader" bracelet watch on AMZWATCH 3 weeks ago and am loving it to pieces. Absolute fantastic watch that wears super comfortable on my 6.75 inch wrist. Chose the 3-link over the 5-link bracelet for the toolless quick adjustment. Way more comfortable than my Longines Hydroconquest 41 mm.

Hi I’m trying to gauge the dial colour , would you say it’s Turquoise with quite a lot of green in mix or a colour like Aqua Blur which is a very bright Blue with a hint of green in it. Also the dial looks very vibrant and light , is it darker in real life.

Thank you for your honest opinion.. I think that any watch within the 300-400 usd, with a miyota 9 movement, is acceptable. This SM brings even more than the erebus.. Jody and Steven are highly "inspired" by Helm but this SM brings so much more value. The only issue the chinese are still lacking is cutomer service imho. I havent got any SM in my collection yet but this one might be added soon :)

I have the erebus ascent, personally, I find the design of that watch nicer, but the bracelet is fairly "standard". The bracelet on this was ismuch better. one of the best bracelets i have, actually, i think the best.

I also have one. They have a different style. IMLO the erebus ascent is more an everyday watch than this. The hands on the erebus make visibility better than any watch i've seen.

is it just me nitpicking the lug ? i feel like the lug is too wide for this dial and bezel...if they slope the lug more thinly to the edge it would look better no ?

IMO I believe a regular (non fitted) bracelet would suit the watch better, and make it conform better on the wrist. I agree, the shape of the lugs look too short (although that makes it fit small wrists better).

I checked every day, about 50% of the dates are mis-aligned to the right. It's very slight though and does not bother me. I can see how some people may be bothered by it.

Thank you for the review, I wanted to ask you if the dial color turn into yellowish towards the indices? the center is fantastic, but as it fades it fades into a yellowish color

I did not notice that before. I see now in the footage that yelloow tinge. When I look at the dial IRL I see it as well, but it's night time now, and i filmed at night. I will check in daylight and let you know.

Looking in the sunlight, or day time with clouds, it get's darker but more of a terquoise than yellow.The first still picture where I talk about specs represents the edge of the dial very well (i.e. the picture looks the same as with my eyes).

Price is getting up there. You make some good points and it shows that basic camera work does not really detract from the quality & usefulness of a review. I would be interested in your comments on the bracelet of this & your Rolex homage. I have an Erebus Accent & the bracelet is poorly finished, if fully featured. The pushers on either side of the clasp are sharp, so every time you put it on you have an unpleasant experience. A cheap Casio bracelet is way better. I got the jubilee bracelet option & the links are also sharp on the edges. You only feel this if you brush against it sideways but they are sharp enough to shave a fingernail. Also interesting your comment on the after sales (lack) of service. I have always assumed that the Ali watches that don't even date their warranty cards have zero warranty. This makes buying a US$300 watch rather too much of a gamble for me.

Price: I buy a lot of watches in this price range. In my opinion, for 300USD it's hard to beat. The bracelet on the rolex homage is comfortable, it moves well, but I feel it's nothing special. I am happy with the finishing on my J-style bracelet on the erebus ascent, for the price range, mine are not super sharp and I don't have an unpleasant experience. Mine is definitely not sharp enough to shave a fingernail, maybe you should contact Erebus about it. In my opinion, the bracelt on this watch is better but I think that it has more to do with the design. I must say I am VERY impressed with this bracelet. Easilly the best one that I have, better than my Certina DS-1 or Casio Oceanus bracelet. I don't have must experience with watches over 1000USD so take that into consideration. On the warrenty/service. This is probably how they are able to keep the watches cheaper. To be fair, they did offer to take a look at the watch and likely would have fixed the stem, but how I was treated was very poorly.

I feel it's too expensive for an Ali brand, don't like the SM name and assumed they would make a premium brand with a different name outside of Ali X Good review and nice watch, the miyota 9 series is amazing but since Sam Martin is an Ali brand and mostly uses NH35 movements (NH movements are made in Malaysia and China now, maybe only the 39 is made in Japan. Could probably get a nice micro brand miyota 9015 /9039 on sale or even something like a glycine combat sub with a Stellita for not that much more on sale.

I also have the Erebus ascent, which is a great watch (but rumoured to also be made in the same factory). IMO, it's worth the money, i did not explicitely say it in the video, but I think it's their best watch.

Wow! We watch collectors are a picky bunch. I don't like watches that don't have the words "Doogle" or "Minkett" in their name. @LukeD-k7e doesn't like watches with the San Martin name. But if they make a premium brand with a different name that includes Doogle or Minkett and don't make them in Malaysia and China now .... @LukeD-k7e and me are all over it, guaranteed two sales here! 🙄

J​@@Review-and-Win they make OEM watches just like alot of company's like the Swatch group everything but lume and movement are sent to Switzerland then Seiko, orient and citizen being cased in china. 2 great movement makers exist 1. Miyota 9015, 9039 and 9075gmt and they are the best mass produced movements that are thin and the only thing they have in common with miyota 8 is unidirectional winding. 2. Hangzhou micro-rotor 5 series, ETA 2824 clone series 6 and maybe the pre-decorated series 8 that mostly become Rolex clones also the unitas clones. Nh34,35,36,38 are not made in Japan but the orient YN55/56 movements are better and Japanese Some SM watches or other brands with NH35s to pt-5000s I would rather get an orient kamasu or glycine combat sub. I hope citizen lowers the price of the 9 series watches.as they mostly care about bulova.
