Nice review mate, it looks pretty good. But when it comes to pilot watches on AliExpress, I still think that Escapement Time is really tough to beat in terms of value for money.

I found them hard to choose between. Chose the Escapement Time one and it's great. The strap on the SM looks a step up though. Spoilt for choice in terms of watches and great reviews.. from you both. Many thanks.

Got the non-coinage variant on SM's flieger style leather strap about two years ago and it's still my favorite GADA watch: no matter how dimly lit or stressful the situation might get, you can rely on the unmatched legibility of this Flieger as well as on the build quality - especially for the price, since even if I had the money for an IWC Flieger, I wouldn't "go anywhere, do anything" with it, for obvious reasons. 💸

That's a great way to put it. I had the old Demasko dial variant of this and sold it a while back. The case and overall quality has changed (for the better) since then, but I really miss that dial with the cross hairs and yellow seconds hand.

So close! Almost a perfect Type A Flieger, with a great looking bezel and crown. Slight differences in the colour of hands and indices always irritates me. If they were both white here it would be perfect. We don't need the ultimate practicality of military style watches any more, we buy them just because we like the aesthetic. So, the option of having a version with the San Martin brand, in script format, would be really good. I don't like sterile dials myself, but accept that others do, so why not just give customers the choice? Excellent review as usual Steve.

Thanks, Dave! A logo option would be nice for sure. I so wish this had white BGW9....I'd even settle for Fauxtina, but this is just overly green. Doesn't look bad, but could look so much better.

That Oyster style bracelet from San Martin is very nice, but they use it on so many models. More of an observation than a complaint. It's a great looking watch.

Yup, it's getting boring talking about it, but it's a good one, so I can see why they use it on everything. No need to reinvent the wheel every watch release, even though it's boring for us reviewers 😂

Great review. I'm a big fan of the type B dial. The type A dial has to much open space and makes it look like just another cheep sterile watch. Any way San Martin makes some nice watches. I like the bezel and crown on this one, gives it a nice vintage look.

Guess that depends on what you prioritize...specs for money, yeah. But overall quality holds some value for me and the Addie's can't compete there. Especially the finishing and bracelet

I was about to start whining, you know "nothing different than other fliegers", but then you show the case (mostly this bezel), finishing, whole construction, plus it's sterile (which i like), and i go... now wait a minute! That's the point of a pilot's watch though, clean and clear and easy to read dials. But yeah, these bracelets SM is using are excellent.

Nice vid, as always, thamks fot that! This San Martin is nearly pefect. They did a great job. The only mistake they made...and that´s the reason for me not to buy one of these)....It´s to small! I like bigger watches, thats why Ilike Flieger-Style watches. I´d like to see it in 42 (MINIMUM) to 45mm diameter. But that´s just my opinion. Go on 👍

Best bracelet for 150? I'd say Best for 1000. Gosh I haven't had any bad bracelets from San martin. Even potato grinder. I've never experienced out of 8 watches.

I think they have toned down the edges on their 3 link bracelets over the past 6 months or so...none are as bad as the SN017 I have, now.
