She’s beautiful ANYWAY SHE WEARS HER HAIR. The beauty of being woman, especially a Black woman is the variety, spontaneity, and the glamour of all the things we can do with our hair. The whole point of this is to love yourself in your most natural organic state, but never let ANYONE ELSE define what beauty is for you and accept that beauty has MANY faces and it’s not just one standard of beauty. We are NOT our hair. 🤗

We are not OUR hair is a beautiful statement HOWEVER we, ARE our hair! Black women use hair as identity. We Have been conditioned to associate our self-worth with our hair.
@butterflyygyrlsworld51065 жыл бұрын
Oli Wood please DO NOT generalize me! I’ve been a black woman for 38 years and proud to say that I AM NOT my hair. I’ve had EVERY style you can think of except for authentic locs (I’ve had faux locs) and I felt beautiful in every style (well the ones that were not disastrous due to bad beauticians). Yes, many black women are conditioned to think a certain way and many of us regained our power back and refuse to think that way any longer. Furthermore my comment was about this clip, movie and the book about the main character SELF DISCOVERY after shaving her head.

I have my natural hair since 15 yrs of age and also a vegan. However we need to embraced our natural hair and beauty of what is us naturally. We so so played in the stereotype of what society say is best. My dad from another father said it best, "I hate seeing the women with plastic on their heads ", trust no I was on the floor laughing, bc he is so right. Plus to add, all the chemicals that is toxic, that will damage your hair and strip away its healthy follicles. Ladies, look at the price you are paying to be beautiful.
@carshathomas11155 жыл бұрын
@N. P. It was easy, I have always loved fruits, vegetables, and any food items that are healthy. My vegan is nothing with animal by products or animals. Thus fresh fruits (all kinds and types, especially exotic fruits like lychee, rambutan, Jackfruits, mulberry, goji, mangoes, and others), fresh vegetables, nuts in its raw form (almonds, sunflower, pecans, chia seeds, hemp seeds cashew, walnuts, all kinds), keep in mind not everything is organic is chemical free, Oils: cold compressed olive oil, coconut oil, avocado oil, sesame oil. Blend my own almond, coconut, hemp, walnut, hazelnut milk and or any type of nuts milk, using fresh coconut water.... Make smoothies using some or all of the ingredients of the maca, camu, chlorella, spirulina, lucuma, cacao, Make soup of several varieties, change of types of soups, using all beans. There is this dried soup beans bag called 15 or 16 bean soup, side note, do not used the seasoning packet comes with, it has animal by products, plus added herbs and spices that you do not know what is in it. Grains: quinoa (all varieties), lentils (all types), barley, brown rice, couscous, cornmeal, etc I do baked my bread once a week or two, depends on my consumption of too much carb, thus keeping the body and mind in balance. bread is like a sponge, so eating such requires plenty of water. Hence I limit my intake. But always freshly baked I stopped eating any and everything sugar, all the unhealthy manufactured sugar. But sometimes I add agave nectar to my bread recipes. I use to this day, fruits as my go to sugar, combining such into recipes that called for sugar. Fruits and some veges can be frozen as to use later or when not in season. Reminder to wash them and prep them before freezing. I am not big on exercises, but I love me some yoga (hot preferably, helps detoxing of the body inside and outside), walking, swimming, no pool, but ocean salt water, it is all natural and good for the skin and pores. Love outdoors gardening, camping and traveling. Plus my favorite healthy me time is sleep, as to help body and mind to rejuvenate itself naturally. Drink fresh lemon water, hot or room temperature daily, I love me some tea at times 3-4 times daily . I at a young age, decided to research and I continued to today, what I was and am consuming. I also looked backed to more so the generation of how cooking and what is thought from generation to generation that will eventually plays a factor in my health and long life starting with my insides, thus as a result of such my outside will demonstrate my attention to what is going down my system. I don't have a set daily diet, but the first thing in the morning I drink warm lemon 🍋 water, nothing added. Just like is. By close to noon whether home or work, I have my brunch breakfast of fruits, oatmeal, and vegetables sandwich and water or smoothie In between, I either snack on nuts, oatmeal and fruit nuts bars (I make my own, for me, I know what I ingredients are in it) Remember manufacturer are still not disclosing all its products ingredients on products, hence folks gets hooked on certain foods and believe it is their eating habits, but it is moreso the added unidentified ingredients in the foods. Chocolate and making anything chocolate has to be 70-100%, no milk chocolate or percent below 70% For lunch, either soup or lentil stew with quinoa and brown rice (boil together both). Supper, either soup, it varies, or quinoa salad, Night cap, tea and homemade fruit jams on toast... Don't forget lots of water, fruit juices, lemon-limeade or lemonade without sugar. It does take time to get the acquired taste in juice and product with no sugar. But agave nectar can be used, until not used anymore. Agave nectar can be used in your bake goods For certain juice too, but not fruit smoothie nor vegetable juices, natural is best I have a laundry list of things, but not going to further overwhelmed you. Let me know if you are willing to start your vegan journey. Question, have you considered starting at vegetarian? but with certain products, animals, poultry, seafood to be limited or none at the all. Namaste. I hope you get a sense of my journey to being 100% vegan
@carshathomas11155 жыл бұрын
@N. P. , yes, I would, rather going cold turkey vegan, your body, especially your mind has to process the changes. Take for example, you wouldn't drink or involved your mind/body in anything before your race that may hinder your success. However, lessen on the red meat, go for turkey, chicken, fish, eggs, certain seafood. If you're worried about protein, you can get plenty from plant base foods and believe me you'll never miss the meat source or know it is not in the meal. Since you have a profession that you need to be focus and with care. Not just the care of the vehicles, but you. So, you have to either prep your ingredients and menu's so it can be easy for you rather grab and go. Healthy eating, healthy exercises, detoxing body from inside & outside, unplugged (I called it the me time), and meditations, lead to healthy you and your successes on the track. Just avoid pesticides and chemicals induced products. Remember, not everything labeled organic is organic Here is a simple and easy lentil and eggplant with either squash and or brown-rice-quinoa. This is healthy and the left overs, if any, can be used in a fresh tortilla wrap with either pouched eggs and shredded smoke Gouda or any cheese type. Any of types of eggplant, brown lentil, onions and garlic, bell peppers. prepared ingredients, chopped diced, then combine in pan, cover until all ingredients are tender. Make rice-quinoa together in sauce pot. This is my passion, roots, culture, especially when I travel, eating, while exploring the food culture of other countries and take back authentic spices to enhance and give love to my dishes, thus I am doing what I love and purpose preparing such foods with love and patience. Even Though, my degree is in public affairs, lol, but I am still helping and making a difference So N.P., focus on the healthy, if you have to grab and go. But like your cars, you also need to put healthy and quality in your system, especially for the long haul Try recipe and let me know. Think about what I say, do gradually go from vegetarian to vegan. Keep in mind the ingredients and protein intake. Namaste! **Be kind, give a smile, make a difference, be the difference**
