The big party: Mom wore a long turqoise chiffon dress. It was strapless with long, flowing scarves that came up from the bodice and over her shoulders, the slightest breeze would catch them and they'd float out behind her, while the slightly full long skirt was made up of 8 layers of chiffon with a silk turquoise underskirt. She wore the huge smoky topaz and diamond necklace & earring set Dad had got her in Mexico; she said all the ladies admired it. She looked GORGEOUS! Dad .. well .. he was the best looking man there, of course! LOL The photo taken of them is one I treasure to this day! That monorail was FANTASTIC! We'd never even been on anything like that! So were the Sky Ride cars!! The art was fabulous! Oh and the Mayan Flying Indians!!! OMG!!! Their costumes were so colorful, bright feathers everywhere. We were so afraid they would smash down onto the circular stage! And the "human sacrifice" -- wow! But I didn't know til I saw this that they had truly made a blood sacrifice - a chicken, to bless it. WOW! I had completely forgotten the waterski lake! THAT was so cool (literally). The Texas Pavilion (I think it was partially sponsored by Lonestar Beer or else .. that was the beverage of choice nearby? Got my first taste of DARK Lonestar beer!).

LoneStar had their own pavilion on the ‘lake’ it’s that strange looking brown building in front of the arena. I remember the 6 flags of Texas hanging inside..
